Wenger to quit (rumour)

Do you reckon though Keni? It's seemed like a repetition of any other season.

A spell of dominance where everyone talks them up as contenders, a few heavy defeats, ultimately poor/wrong decisions in the transfer market, injuries symptomatic of their tendency to be all fancy-Dan with no ability to roll their sleeves up when the chips are down (or the cold sets in), Walcott's annual two thirds of a season on the sidelines, a complete failure to address exactly the same issues that have held them back for years - all leading to the same old story of Arsenal running out of steam when they have the opportunity to press ahead.

Different year, same old shit.

All this.

Wenger has been in charge for 1000 games.
He last one a trophy 502 games ago.
Says it all really.
Was good.
He's lost it.

So the question is - what happened at the 502 games mark - which roughly equates to the rise of chelsea and the entry to the game of the Russian & Arab billionaire owners.

Period also covers the effect of construction & resourcing the new stadium on the team - the argument being that less investment in the team led to a drop in ability within the team - Ageing team of winners replaced by cheaper & younger players = dip in performance : not much, but enough to drop to fourth with us under Benitez re-emerging as a top four force.

Not saying he hasn't made mistakes, but replacing him wouldn't necessarily re-establish them as a genuine title challenger (more so than they are), as there are more complex dynamics at work.

That's true but, if they're going to need to do so before too long (and IMO they are), they might as well get started a.s.a.p. He seems locked into a way of doing things which worked extremely well within the brief he was given for much of his time there, but which doesn't seem suited to taking them forward from where they've got to under him.

Yeah but what about the lovely new stadium with the recently repaid mortgage he got them?

Well worth a 502 game drought.*

You've got to get your priorities right.

* might could win the FA cup though.

Is it OK to say I don't give one solitary toss what happened. I'm just laughing.

He had a mini stroke that no one noticed. The signs are there for his loss of brain function, the inability to get his hand in his pocket first time, the blindness that often comes across as selective, falling over in the train station...

Klopp will come to PL next season as he knows he can't win their league. Spurs, utd or ars?

Steady on

Haha I know. I just think I hate Arsenal more. All the selfies and celebrating 4th like it's a trophy have done it for me. Plus they're a closer rival for the title and CL places than Everton. We could do with them and United sitting out the Champions League places for a couple of years.

I can see Arsenal getting a result at the weekend.

They'll still struggle to get fourth, but will probably manage to secure it on the last day of the season and celebrate for the whole summer because of it. Hopefully they give Wenger an extension on his contract too.

Plus my Arsenal supporting mate will actually cry. Tears. He was weeping like a little bitch when Chelsea stuffed them at the weekend.

He's 22.

He's a bit of a shit football fan to be honest. He's a few years younger than me, and I don't know if this applies to all people his age and younger, but he really is a product of the Sky generation. The first one I've seen. He doesn't think for himself, just regurgitates the shit Sky spout alongside general clichés. For example, he text me asking about this William Carvalho and how Man Utd are willing to spend 30m on a DM and that it was too much for a player in that position. But I said they desperately need one, and if he turns out to be the next Scholes or Keane then it's worth it, especially in today's market. But he couldn't get his head round that.

He also started off as a Chelsea fan. Then a Utd fan. Now Arsenal. Might make a Kopite out of him yet.

Er, yes please.

Wait, he's regularly changed football teams after the age of ten? Even more embarrassing!

Please fucking don't. We have enough of our own bellends, we don't need anymore!

His problem appears to be that he's a massive, massive twat.

He's a fan of no one. He's a consumer of Sky Sports and the Premier League.

Yep, like I said, his views aren't his own. Like I said, I was wondering if this type of thing is rife now amongst people of around 20 years of age? I just missed it, it seems, being 26. He just regurgitates the same shit they're peddling at the time. I'm trying to think of an example... but I can't.

Yeah @Mystic he started off supporting Chelsea when he (quite clearly) didn't know anything about football. Then he became like the vast majority of gloryhunting Irishmen and started supporting Man Utd when he got more into it, and then he inexplicably started supporting Arsenal about 5 years ago - so they hadn't won anything for only 4 years at that point.

I'm doing him a disservice really, he's a genuinely nice lad. Just a complete fucktard when it comes to football.

Definitely not. It's rife with people who can't formulate their own opinion. Like Fox and the Daily Mail
