Weekend matches

If I want to watch close, nervy matches there are plenty of those involving other teams, thanks. I'd be happy with a lot more comfortable victories where I dont age rapidly.

Eden Hazard - “I didn’t just frustrate Conte. In my career, I’ve frustrated all my managers, and now I’m frustrating Sarri. I frustrated Mourinho. They all think you need to score more, do such and such more. I’ll also frustrate the next manager I have.”

There's a joke in here somewhere

Third hattrick of the season for Paul Glatzel tonight for the under 18s - 20th goal of the season. Him and Bobby Duncan are very promising forwards.

I saw Bobby Duncan a couple of days ago in the asda. He's an ugly bastard. He's got the same confusing fod as Gerrard. Let's hope he has some other family traits too.

Yeah, no forehead, which isn't a good look. Fidel came on for the last few minutes!

How did he do? Do you watch these games? Been half-heartedly looking for clips online of him but I've had no luck.

Lol I mean in general, he isn’t a Sterling or a Brewster type yet.

He’s scoring goals but doesn’t look a super star in the making.

To be fair to him he's had his progress delayed by a broken leg and two serious hamstring injuries, and he's still only 17. Now that he's fit again he'll hopefully have an uninterrupted run where he can show how much ability he has. He's quick, his closing down of keepers and pressing from the front is exceptional, and he is a natural goalscorer. Pep Ljinders thinks very highly of him, which bodes well for his chances of being fast-tracked to Melwood, and if he has a bit of luck now with his fitness I'm very hopeful about his future.

My general concerns for our players at that level is that the league is so ridiculously slow-paced. Our youth teams are supposed to mirror the style of the senior team, but that's really difficult when it comes down to an act of will, every game, to play at a pace that is alien to other teams at that level. There's just nothing to push the players on. Obviously the coach can shout at them and the players can force themselves to up the tempo, but the whole environment is so soporific it's alarming.

Something about supposedly having a weaker squad and yet they’re still in 4 competitions whilst we’re in Dubai.

Why does ANYBODY associated with that shower feel that they can slag anyone, about about anything? Wasn't Gary Mabbut their last trophy winning captain, FFS?

As Alan Hansen used to say, put your medals on the table.
To be honest I hate that line. United fans use it all the time but a great player can be in a side that wins SFA, he's still a great player even without the medals.
