I read somewhere recently that Jenas was for sale. I wouldn't mind him coming here to replace Lucas.

No.

No more people from Nottingham playing for Liverpool !

Considering ours and Spurs respective financial situations + the take on the 2 squads in question, i take it quite a few on here think that spurs will finish above us again this season?

Yes.

We are shit and doomed.

We have two world class players that are unplayable on their day. If they can show up every week, and we have a manager who allows our team to play football while increasing confidence in the whole squad, then I don't see why we can't finish above them. But take out SG or FT for a long spell and we will suffer again.

Ha.

How many times did SG and Torres play together when we finished 2nd?

I still think that people are over doing it with regards to the thoughts on our squad. 2-3 good additions could see us right back in it again next season (which can be done even if we have to get rid of a few players to finance them).

Ok then, so who out of spurs team would we take, and are better than ours?

Modric
Palacios
Bale
Lennon
Defoe

I reckon those would walk into our squad. The others i think are equal ish to what we have already.

Oh, so they only have five midfielders or strikers who would walk into our squad? They'd have to have at least ten before I'd take them seriously.

Modric would only be concidered in the Gerrard role, which lave him on the bench. Lennon would never be a starter for Liverpool as he has his strengths going forward and not tracking back. Defoe... Hmmm I am not sure he would even be ahead of Yossi on the becnch. Palacios should have played his trade, but for Liverpool please remthat Lucas was allwaysprioritied ahead of Mascher. So the whole discussion is meaningless.

Could you arguably add Crouch, Huddlestone and Kranjcar to that list?

I dunno, I haven't really watched Spurs this season, but I'm sure people have spoken relatively well of them. Compared to what our options are, I'd have Crouch back in a heartbeat

He's bloody huge and slow, but he's a nice passer

That wasn't the most effusive and passionate defence ever, granted

Haha.

Huddlestone does have talent, but just doesn't make it count anything like often enough. I was surprised he got in the WC thirty and suspect it's more through lack of competition than for any other reason. His usual performance is reminiscent of big Jan Molby on a bad day.

The team is better than it showed last season, but the new manager would have to pull off the best summer in our recent history to get us back in it. Either that or work some serious magic with the players we already have.

Stoke were interested in Jenasn I think

You used to bang on about how good he was. He's fucking shit.

I don't think we'll win it Keni, but i wouldn't be surprised to see us put in a decent challenge next season. We've got the makings of a very good squad, that with a few good additions (i'm not talking super star signings) could improve dramatically. If the likes of Kelly and Pacheco could step up and help to add some more depth to our squad, then that would be a useful bonus (one that i don't think is particularly far-fetched either).

What gives me a little more confidence in our chances for next season, is that all of the other big three will being facing major problems of their own as well.
