It's fairly normal at Dortmund, so it's different from the 'look at us and bow in our presence' preening that goes on at the Emirates. So long as it's a sort of tribal thing I think it's good.

I agree, see it many a time in Germany. I just really like how Klopp is trying to get the fans up for it also. Been long overdue

I'm getting tired of Klopp's tedious mantra about this squad: "I don't need any players, I have said when I joined and I say it now"

Yes you fucking do. We're 9th. Watford, Leicester, West Ham and fucking Palace are above us, and you've just drawn with West Brom at home.

And despite your protestations Mignolet's fucking shit

He's hardly going to come out saying we need x, y and z, and be critical of Ming. I can pretty much guarantee he'll want reinforcements incl a new keeper

Irrespective of the meaning or purpose of whatever that was at the end of the game, if Rodgers had instigated it he would have been slaughtered for it on here. And rightly so.

Mignonette, Milner, Benteke all need replacing asap. Henderson is nothing special and so when the chance comes, upgraded.

Played ok but awful around the box.

West Brom are a horrible side. I'd give up football if we played like they do.

Klopp has said next week they are only training to defend set pieces.

Only problem with that is to do so you need a team who can score set pieces to play against...

Voting going on on the Echo website.
70+% OK with it.
25% - not arsed either way
5% nose out of place / too staid / bluenose fans

Which probably reflects opinion on here...which in turn shows the faith that has been placed in Klopp. I'm not making a thing out of it, I just find it interesting.

I agree that I'd have cringed if Rodgers did it.

With Rodgers it felt like everything was staged though, even from the word go.

Klopp, it feels more natural.

Lucas instead of Milner next game please. Can must play higher up the pitch.

-------------------------Lucas---------
---------------Henderson-----Can-------

Bogdan instead of Mignolet. Mig is the big reason to why we are so shit defending dead ball situations. The players must cover the space Mignolet should cover and we have seen the result of that over and over again.

Anfield has been dead and quiet since the 13/14 season. The one game where Klopp feel connected and the atmosphere is back like it should be - and he makes the players thank the fans. Which is normal in the Bundesliga, even when you dont win.
Cause in the end its all about the fans.
And they were great today.

Yet some find it cringeworthy and strange.
I give up.
Klopp has to change the mentality of the players, club and the fans.
He's doing it. Stop being whiny bastards

We need a new keeper. In Jan please. I would put that at the top of my shopping list.
I didn't expect anything more than a point. If there's one manager that knows how to organise a defensive unit it's Pulis. And we all know how we struggle at home against such teams.
Yeh the result is not great, but we struggle to open up such teams at all, and we scored twice.
In my book, that's a positive.

Oh right. I thought we were all buzzing off his amazingly honest and open nature, but it seems like you're saying he's a massive liar and talks shit when it suits him, so which is it?

Fair enough, it seems everyone disagrees with me, I'm not egotistical enough to think that I'm right when everyone else is saying I'm not!

Perhaps I am being overly harsh, but yet again we didn't do enough against a very one dimensional side & defended very badly, again.

I'm just a bit pissed off with it now. We need to fuck Mignolet off immediately, & we need to start taking advantage of the amount of set pieces we get against sides. Those two things would make a big difference imo.

A rather good response to a significantly limited counter argument 🙂

I'm liking your revised assessment. Ming is not the answer but also we need to be better as a unit against set pieces - its all about coaching

Let Jurgen and his football magicians work with these players! We will see them improve and reap the benefits!

Reality: even if we all buy into a Klopp-inspired utopia and accept that he is capable of adding 10% to their quality (yeah, right) the simple fact is that I'd prefer he added that 10% to player who is performing at 70 already.

Adding 10% to the likes of Lucas, Lovren, Allen, Mongolet and Firmino still gives you at best 60%.

Let him improve better players rather than just make shit players a bit less shit

I liked his contempt for that hack who kept asking him angrily to explain why he didn't shake hands with Pulis. The bloke sounded like he was almost tearfully outraged that Pulis had been snubbed, the big twat.

Benteke is no Studger,as if we didn't know already....

Ok - there is something wrong, and I don't know if Klopp has told Benteke to just stand there like a statue but his attitude and movement is different from when he first started playing for us. We all know he needs a little service (well quite a lot right now) - but his movement is non-existent and seems like a bigger version of Balottelli. We are without doubt playing with 10 men every time he is on the pitch. I think this is causing us issues with Klopp's method as the spear at the front is blunt.

I'm not sure anyone's arguing that particularly (although you've included Firmino in there a bit prematurely imo), but he's getting better results from the same players (if not always better performances), & we can't buy for a few more weeks.

Even then, the January market is rarely the best time to buy players (Suarez & Sturridge being our notable exceptions to that rule), so we have to hope he can tweak things enough with our existing players to keep improving whilst he awaits shiny new players.

Interesting in what way? It's a lot more predictable than it is interesting.

If he pulls that stunt two years into his reign - after we've drawn with WBA and sit ninth - a reaction such as the one he's getting would be interesting. As it is, it's pretty much par for the course and not all that interesting....erm....at all. In my view, anyway.

Journo in looking for a non existent angle shock.
