Like the way Klopp is trying to get the crowd going, antics on the sidelines, slight dig at fans leaving early etc. For too long it's been like a morgue as we know (granted seemed a better atmosphere today), and the fans should almost be made to feel ashamed at how quiet it has become. Nice to see Klopp et al going to the kop at end to show its appreciation, hopefully the fans in general will be reciprocal and try to start turning a Anfield back to the cauldron it once was. Yes, before you all jump on criticise train, the players too have a responsibility in performing in order to lift the spirits and mood in trying to get the fans going. Just think we as fans could be doing a little more

It fucks me off no end how fucking predictable this all is, still, we gained a point on United and Spurs, look at the positives I suppose.

Ah well. Didn't really deserve the draw but the point is better than nothing.

Once difference Klopp has made with this same group of players is that, we forgot how to come from behind under Rodgers.

Bollocks

I'm not wildly bothered. This is going to be an up and down season. It's not a squad blessed with smart players. Give them a frustrating system to play against and they don't know what to do. Benteke and others can either show they can play well or they can be sold. Next season I'm confident we'll be very good. This season is more fascinating for seeing how quickly Klopp works out the pros and cons.
This was demonstrated a number of times throughout this match, Coutinho (amongst others) continually trying to thread balls through two banks of 8 players stood just a couple of metres apart and Benteke playing the ball back or wide when we had a 2 on 3 or 3 on 3 situation, just have a fucking go ! Good to see Henderson getting some good crosses on though - seems not one other player is capable.

One other thing. Can anyone give me a single good reason why when opposing teams have FKs 40m out we move our back line up to or just past the edge of the box ? It gives the attacking team the advantage every time. Especially when they have a whole team of fucking giants ! Why not just set up like a corner and let them look totally flummoxed.

Benteke is just really shit. Dawson and Olsson are not really the best around but they bossed him over and over.

He couldn't do it with his head, he looks worse than Carroll with his feet, and he's just sulking and complaining the entire game.

Origi did more in 5 mins tells you the entire story.

Fair enough, it seems everyone disagrees with me, I'm not egotistical enough to think that I'm right when everyone else is saying I'm not!

Perhaps I am being overly harsh, but yet again we didn't do enough against a very one dimensional side & defended very badly, again.

I'm just a bit pissed off with it now. We need to fuck Mignolet off immediately, & we need to start taking advantage of the amount of set pieces we get against sides. Those two things would make a big difference imo.

Er, their second goal?

And why do we still not have someone on either posts when defending corners? We are losing the headers anyway so why not just place 2 players there. Both goals today COULD have been prevented if we had someone at the post.

I'm not sure what we had to do then to deserve a draw (at least). Whilst it's true our shooting and creativity was not of the highest standard we were at least trying to play football and win the match .. down to the very last second. WBA came for a point.

Liverpool 2-2 West Brom FT: Shots(OT) 28(8) - 4(2), Possession 70% - 30%,

Liverpool had 28 shots today, more than any of their Premier League matches since December 2013 (vs. West Ham)

I'm not a fan of that tbh. Plenty of teams can defend very well from corners without doing it, & the disadvantage of having two players there if you win the ball back & want to counter quickly (which under Klopp we do) is huge.

Under Rafa we didn't do it & once he got the defence drilled (& with a keeper who actually dealt with set pieces & corners!) we were very good at defending them.

Should ming have tried to attack the ball for their 2nd goal? Looking at the angle the ball was coming in, he would be in trouble even if no one had touched the ball. And we now know staying on his line does shit to prevent that goal.

Look at Can before you blame Ming for that one as well.

Er, their second goal?
What's your point ? They scored a goal from a corner so what ? We are atrocious at defending those type of FKs though, every fucking time, it gives me nightmares because I know a decent ball in has a 50/50 chance of ending up in the back of the net. That's not the case with corners.

When that first goal went in we had THREE players on the line including a player (Skrtel I think) on the post.

Exactly what Grobelaar was saying recently. Said he should be coming out at least a yard or two more - blamed Achterberg.

But we have seen many instances of balls being cleared by the player at the posts. The percentage might not be that high but people like Clyne, Moreno or Coutinho are never going to get their heads on the ball anyway.

I would think we should put 1 player at the far post at least. The near post should be covered by the keeper.

He NEVER starts in the right position, never comes out when he should & sometimes does when he shouldn't, doesn't shout when he should but then shouts at defenders & is ignored.

He's the biggest problem we have by a long way.

It's fairly normal at Dortmund, so it's different from the 'look at us and bow in our presence' preening that goes on at the Emirates. So long as it's a sort of tribal thing I think it's good.

I've never really been a fan of Mings, but I've stayed patient. However, when a keeper starts costing us games habitually it's really time to move on.
Would still be surprised to see Bogdan play next.

The player covering the post should be standing there, within touching distance of the post and watching the play, ready to get his body in the way if a ball comes in. He shouldn't attack the ball.

Skrtel was the nearest but he was kinda flinging himself around.

Our defense against corners is equally atrocious, so setting up as if to defend against a corner is not gonna be good. Our whole philosophy against set pieces has to be re-thought.

Problem...

Benteke is just not suited to this team. He is Lazy.. He is playing at the moment like he has the attributes of Andy Carroll, with the attitude of Balotelli and strength of Emile Heskey.. He barely moves.. He just wait for the ball to lumped up to him, and if its not played to him on a plate he is useless... His link up play is also awful.

To top that we do not have the quality in personnel to play to his supposed strengths

We should go with the forward line that Crushed Man City, Benteke should always be an 'option', from the bench. Right now I would play Origi ahead of him..

Mingolet, nothing more needs to be said that has already been said about our Keeper.. Grobelaar, love him or hate him, nailed it.. He has been here how many years ?? and no signs of improvement, the Goalkeeper Coach certainly has to take most of blame for that...

I'm getting tired of Klopp's tedious mantra about this squad: "I don't need any players, I have said when I joined and I say it now"

Yes you fucking do. We're 9th. Watford, Leicester, West Ham and fucking Palace are above us, and you've just drawn with West Brom at home.

And despite your protestations Mignolet's fucking shit

Exactly.
Said so during the game. We should really try playing Firmino and Coutinho like we did against Man C.

You must know it's a load of bollocks.

He can't say that he needs a load of new players when he doesn't know how many he'll be able to get in January, so will be stuck with a load of them until next season.

He's been backing Mignolet up constantly, & I bet he'll continue to do so until the moment he's sold after we've bought a replacement.
