I agree. People need to let go.
There isnt even a right or wrong to all this. One mans meat and all that jazz.

I used to HATE Luis Garcia, and for all the occassional brilliance he used to piss me off giving the ball away and being lazy and all the sub par crap. I wasnt right, it was just how I felt. Granted I dont actually get why anyone wouldnt rate Firmino (for example) but ultimately you see the game through your eyes, not stats and charts.

Im pretty sure everyone wants every player to play really well every game, and all Bren has asked for is more goals and consistency from Firmino, which ultimately we would all be saying if we were halfway down the table.

I think its important to note right now that the 'team' is the most important element. We arent a one man team anymore and the 'Team' right now is hiding a multitude of sins (keeper, defence, CM at left back, no DM and YES no natural striker)

I also think if people took the time to look they would see Bren being massively complimentary to Firmino in games when he has delivered what Bren is expecting from him.

His goal return for a central striker in a team making as many chances as we do is probably a little off where it should be, but then 2 more assists yesterday......the TEAM is reaping the rewards.

Me I love him, I think hes brilliant and as many times as he creates something brilliant he tracks back and destroys something from the opposition in our box. Strikers who do that dog work rarely score 20+ goals. He isnt Sturridge and never will be. Hes Firmino, and hes brilliant at that.
He brings it upon himself, I think people would be happy to let it go if Brendan didn't use the match thread to keep making sniping comments. "If only we had a striker on the pitch with a strikers instinct", "Trust Mane to score a goal like that as he's our only quick and clinical player", paraphrasing, but read through the match thread and you'll see what I mean. Also his elation that Mane scored twice, not because he scored twice, but so that the player he claims doesn't score enough isn't our top scorer anymore, which was a point of massive embarrassment for him, when he keeps that shit up every match thread you can't moan at people for giving it back to him. It's was beautifully fitting that Firmino scored a true strikers goal yesterday, and gave a true strikers performance, he's an outstanding player, the sooner Brendan moves on the better.

Really? It's dead easy. Just remember when he was a regular in the team.

I don't dislike him as much anymore, now that he can't get a game in midfield, is a third reserve at CB and is mainly used for BBQs and South American morale.

Its so great to be playing this kind of football.

Also we showing some maturity even when conceding / not scoring. The team know chances will come.

Ha. The team do, judging by the match thread the fans dont. Half the comments were just panicking along the lines of "It's one of those days" by 25 minutes in, despite us fucking hammering their goal.

Two minutes later, the floodgates opened.

The change is particularly evident when it comes to crosses. The culture of English football is to hit crosses with lots of pace, to drive or “whip” them in towards the target – which would often not even be a player, but an area – the fabled “corridor of uncertainty”. Dalglish bought players like Stewart Downing and Charlie Adam who whipped those pacey balls into the box all day for Andy Carroll to agonisingly fail to get on the end of. It didn’t work. The German national team – and now Liverpool – take a different approach. Their crosses are passed, rather than driven. Most of them are aimed to feet rather than at head height. The idea is not to “give the defenders a problem” or “ask them a question” – but to pick out a team-mate with a precise ball, one that ideally leaves the defenders wrong-footed.
I was just about to write about this. We've clearly changed our approach when crossing the ball – think of Coutinho's cross for Mane for the 1st goal or Lallana's for Can for the 3rd or Firmino's for Mane in the last game. These are angled, floaty passes rather than traditional crosses with pace – and the target is a specific player rather than "an area." It's proving to be really effective!

Yup I said that. In my defence, Liverpool has let me down for many years. Hoping it will change this season.

I've had about six goes at reading this.

Is it James Joyce or something?

In what way am I moaning?
Brendan can be a massive agenda driven cunt.
Same as EVERYONE alive.
Im ok with it.

You get a like for all of that apart from the Garcia bit!

Funny enough, if Studge was more clinical Firmino would have had three assists yesterday....

What's happened to Oscar at Chelsea?

He always got / gets picked for Brazil and in the eyes of the neutrals (til recently at least) was seen as superior to Coutinho. He had that season where he scored 10 or so for Chelsea, didn't he? Don't hear much about him these days.

Doesnt seem like Conte likes/rates him all that much. Willian cant get in the team either at the moment mind.

Juninho is the only one who springs to mind. Actually Robinho and Elano for City were pretty decent.
Willian, David Luiz (Prob scored a couple), Oscar.... Erm.... Julio baptista.... Afonso Alves.......... Hmm.....

Brazil hasn't been well represented here has it?
