Reading this comment you wouldn't think this was a team that historically the season before played every game possible and won the two trophies.

Mistakes are made but it's looking like the decision to persist with this ageing, exhausted, injury prone midfield was a bad decision. The signs were there despite last season's endeavours. Ox and Keita play more on the treatment table than on the pitch. Even fit ones Fabinho, Thiago and Henderson are prone to prolonged periods on the sidelines.

We got to invest this winter transfer window in a midfielder. Why waste a generational great like Klopp by being tight?

This is totally true.
May I add that despite the clown show that we tend to have in defence from time to time with Gomez and Trent we are struggling up front...
yes we miss Diaz, most definitely, and a Inform Jota would help,But what is hurting us more than anything is we have no one to replace Salah on the right should he needs resting or gets injured the nearest fit to that is Diaz.

The other problem is Darwin... Great with his head when he has little time to think about it, Not so great with his feet at present. But it will come, Score a few more goals regularly and the belief will build, and he will be hitting balls first time and will feel that he does not need a second touch. It's a confidence thing...
Work wise and defensive part of his game, it is like having a fit again Sadio Mane at his best...

The best that we can hope for is a top four finish and hope we win the CL...Although. I would settle for the Europa League and winning that next season, and starting the rebuild

We are not getting anywhere near top 4. We've just been out fought and deservedly beaten by teams in the bottom 2 places.

klopp overloads fabs with work, then tears into him
actually, fabs hasn't been that bad now the last games
he just has too much space to cover for the two luxuries next to him in elliott n thiago

Its like he is carrying another 6lbs in weight, the way he runs. We're fucked, and I don't see anything changing in Jan. Klopp wants to continue with Ox, Naby and Melo. Fucking Melo, a player who was brought in to relieve us of injury crisis but will end up costing us €7m and will if we're lucky be available for 5 games

I was pointing out the problems with TAA and his lack of effort in defence all season, and most of the last, and people was telling me that he is the best RB in the world 😕.
Now they are seeing what I saw/see

Play 3 at the back. That's the short term solution.

It makes the most sense too.

3-5-2 was my favourite formation during the early years of Konami, FIFA and CM. I would trash everyone min. 10-0 all the time.

Jokes aside, '86 Maradona WC was a 3-5-2. So was Brazil '02. Conte and Pep have both used it to devastating effect. The great Italian teams use it back in the 90s and 2000s. It is flexible too and you can easily switch to 5-3-2 for defending or 3-4-3 when attacking.

Best part - teams wont get to bully us in midfield and Trent can play to his strengths. We've also got pretty good players for this formation too to pull it off.

Yeah, calling Trent suspect defensively. So brave. So innovative. So forward thinking. Share more of your wisdom with us enlightened one.

Jesus Christ.

For the diamond to work we need 3 at the back not a back 4 as you basically are asking the two full backs to be isolated on the flanks with the diamond tucked in middle of the field .

Here is the thing... "I said that the Best we can hope for"... We are 8 points off Newcastle in 4th spot, who we have still to play again.

Secondly, We have some of our best attackers and most influential players to come back,(Jota and Diaz)

Lastly, It is the must unpredictable seasons thus far Chelsea loses to Leeds 3-0, Brentford beat Man Utd 4-0, Southampton beats Chelsea 2-1, Brighton beat West Ham 2-0 Forest 1 The hammers 0, Utd 1 Brighton 2, Villa 1 City 1, Brighton 4 Chelsea 1

What I am saying here is that there as been plenty of unpredictable score lines this season, an away from Arsenal and City no team thus far has be immune for those loses. So 3rd place down is wide open, and with the World Cup in November - December this season and players coming back in the winter Who know who will pick up injures. It is even possible City Arsenal or both could fall away from the top spots and Newcastle could win the title. Any shit can happen

Being brave has nothing to do with it, Point is I called it out when it was unpopular to do so and all must no one wanted to see it as a problem. Not even seeing it when If you looked it was not that hard to see.

But I guess It is easier to shoot the massager than to listen to the massager

In life I try and listen to the opinions of other, look watch and listen to see if the have merit instead of dismissing them out rigth just because you either don't like who is saying them, or what is being said.

Something you might try to do in future instead of posting what you did

I know folks have complained enough about other players, but Fabinho's deterioration is something I am unable to wrap my head around. He seems to have aged 20 years over the summer. I have seen midfielders age and deteriorate but haven't seen anything like this before. Is he carrying an injury? or is he depressed? Last year I was thinking, a couple more seasons of this performance, and Fabinho deserves to be placed alongside Keane, Viera, Gerrard, and Kante as one of PL's great midfielders.
Now when I watch him play, the only thought in my mind is can Bajcetic be any worse?

Do folks think he can be back to somewhat his best form with dynamic midfielders around him? Or does he enter the scrap heap like Keita and Ox? How many players should we consider replacing the next two transfer windows - Ox, Keita, Milner, Firmino? Maybe even more if Patterson turns out to be a not so good deputy for TAA.

It's been largely accepted that Trent has been defensively suspect for 2-3 years. Preaching you're some sort of fucking oracle is laughable and cringe-worthy.

But if you don't score you don't necessarily lose.

For me it's very much down to our atrocious defence. Gomez is just pure shite and shouldn't be near any Premier League team. If it wasn't for Klopp's blind faith he would be lucky to play in the Championship. And since Trent thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread (see his comments regarding Walker for example) he's gone to utter shite as well. And Virgil is in his decline.

So there lies the biggest problem for me. Our defence is a laughing stock and our rebuild has to start from there.

True, of course. No goals doesn't mean you automatically lose... But you certainly don't win, and we created enough chances in these two horrific losses to win four bloody matches.

Yes, our defense is shite this season, but here's the thing... It always has been a little bit crap back there, even when we were winning the league - They were simply protected by a far more aggressive and suffocating midfield, limiting opponents to far fewer chances (and even then, we got lucky a lot, with near misses and 'should have scored that' chances).

This team is fully washed, look at it man for man it's practically assembled with past it players, off form players or players not ready + the rest of the crocks that should've been moved on years ago.

Alisson Mo and Nunez only ones that come away with any credit yet again.

Starting to come to the thought that Virgil is past it, Gomez simply not good enough, Trent isn't good enough to be a defender, Robbo and Fab way off it. Hendo and Milner past it and Harvey is well out his depth.

Have never Claimed to be anything other than just an ordinary supporter just like everyone else. Only difference with me from most here is I (As I been told many a time) tend to look at the more negative side of our games. I believe what is good about our game speaks for itself, so I call out what is bad

Now the reason I bought it up was because of noticing a post in this tread from someone who had previously had a pop at me about TAA, say that how could I want to get rid of the best RB in the world,Implying it was that I was stupid for saying it. And now he is saying the same thing that I have been bang on about... My post was about that and not about me knowing more than anyone else.

Anyone could see it. They just have to look without basis

I’ve said it a few times before, I’m worried he might be a finished at 29 type Brazilian as he’s never looked a naturally fit guy. He reminds me of latter stage Matic but obviously a couple of youngsters buzzing around would help somewhat.

Klopp isn’t blind, he sees what the rest of us see…he has his loyalties and I get that, who else is there? Milner? A 50% 19 year old?

I suspect he may have a Lazarus like resurrection once he gets to Qatar, in which case he was just going through the motions pre world cup.

If he's shit for Brazil theirs a very good chance he's done at this level. His mobility has declined at an incredible rate.

Even if he plays very well for Brazil, that might not mean much. Isn't international football much slower than premier league football? I am betting it is also much less physically demanding than Klopp-ball. So he might do well in Qatar and return and resume his legends tour impression in the PL. Ideally, he does well there and we get a bid from one of the teams in the slower leagues.

Anyways, unless there is an injury, I expect Casemiro to start ahead of him.

Why not try that (those) 19 year old(s)? Could the outcomes have been any worse in the last two league games? I wonder …

You really want us to sign that young Everton lad dont you? 😉

Maybe I'm alone here, but I thought Gomez was good after the mistake. I get the hostility, though. For me, the midfield, and its set up, deserves much of the criticism from last night. Thiago should have been instructed to hold along with Fabinho, who just not capable of plugging all the gaps anymore. We allowed the game to decend into a basketball match, only they had more space in which to operate in the final third. Klopp needs to get the 4-2-3-1 working, and fast. I wonder if having Salah in a free role behind Nunez might be the answer to get him closer to goal in such a set up, which has been the biggest challenge to date.

Whatever we do we need some stability in the middle, because banking on Fabinho alone is no longer viable.

He was - but the hate flows strong.

I agree with you, people too often forget how good he is, and also the major disruptions he suffered through his injuries.

He was, but its kind of a moot point after he's given the opposition the only goal of the game.

A bit like waking up after 16 pints and talking your missus that you were very well behaved after you shit the bed.
