Spearing isn't a DM. In fact we don't actually have an out and out DM (Lucas doesn't really fit that billing) which is why I can see us playing more of a 4-4-2 this season.

Because StevieM says he's deffo starting against Sunderland so if that were to be the case he ought to be kicking a ball the week before.

Its going to be very tough game. We desperatly need a good result, a good defensive performance and an attacking display that shows some promise.

After the Vålerenga game I've been thinking about what the hell we've been doing this pre season, but a good performance tomorrow will mean we're in okay shape for next weekend.

Hopefully the players have been through lighter training and are ready for the game. Being at Anfield infront of a good crowd will also help.
Im actually a bit nervous about the game, because if I see the same shocking display as against Vålerenga I'll be most disturbed and uneasy about the season kick off.
