Trent, Salah and VVD

It's because Klopp and Slot both insist on playing for 90 mins in every fucking game.

I think he's also to blame on that - he wants to play every minute etc ...
I love that though - he's a born competitor and winner, but that's where the blame does lie with the gaffas - protect him. If you're up 2-0 in the 80th, give the minutes to whoever.

Also if he's shit for 80 mins have the guts to sub him.
I've said it before, Salah rarely scores a late winner for us.

…despite having conserved energy the whole game as he’s not asked to track back much. The difference in work rate / defensive cover between left flank (eg Diaz) and Salah on the right (with direct impact on Grav, Szobo and the right back) is palpable.

Granted Salah’s earned the right to be a unicorn in the side over many seasons, but I do wonder what it does to our balance as the season goes on. I keep reading folk moaning about the rest of the forwards showing up but we’re so heavily shaped around Salah’s needs that I think the whole system is too skewed.

With the expected natural decline in pace / effectiveness over the next 2-3 seasons, I’m seriously itchy about given Salah a huge contract and basically maintaining a declining version of what we’ve become in the latter part of this season (ie. Jan onwards).

On balance, I’m thinking now might be the chance to back Slot and reconfigure the system in a a more balanced way around established / emerging younger players. In that sense, a 400k a week contract for Mo would be off the table for me.

Well, if we're gonna have a unicorn in our team he should definitely be creating more than he currently is. Not just giving away possession.
Some of the defenders pocketing Salah aren't even top class.

The real question for me is: how many games can he go without contributing in open play before Slot finally decides to sub him?

It feels like lately, he's been relying on penalties to paper over his lackluster performances.

I know there will be other fans who’ll give me grief, arguing that Salah has already had a great season. But honestly, I just don’t get it—does that mean Salah gets a free pass to stroll around the pitch, casually giving the ball away for the rest of the season?

If he’s going to disappear in our most crucial games, is it too much to ask that he at least shows up in a home game against Everton?
