Trent, Salah and VVD

Announce.the.contract you fucking shithouse cunts. You've had your fun taking the piss, it's not funny anymore.

I dunno - seeing your impatience meltdowns never gets old.

Do you also throw tanties when you can’t open the pressies under the tree before Xmas morning as well?

the focus on trent will become fairly intense if the other two sign won’t it? that’ll be interesting, i just hope it won’t compromise the slot machine in any way

All the time, it's why no one bothers getting me presents anymore so sooner Hughes pulls his finger out his arse the happier I'll be 🙂

I suspect Trent Alexander-Arnold will be most interested in the progress of other contract renewals, particularly those of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, as they will help keep Liverpool at the top of the game in the short term. However, given Trent’s recent interviews, I have a feeling that Jude Bellingham and Real Madrid have already convinced him to make the move, and at this point, we’re just playing along with the narrative.

That said, I don’t think Trent fully understands what he’s stepping into. Throughout his career, he’s been part of a happy, cohesive squad with a strong mentality. Moving to a team like Madrid, where egos drive much of the atmosphere, will be a massive shock. Bellingham may have painted a perfect picture of life there, but it’s clear there are plenty of underlying issues within that squad. For instance, many of the players already seem to have turned against Mbappé, the press can then on you after a few poor training sessions. He's more than good enough to be a main player for Madrid, but I'm far from convinced he'd actually enjoy it.

You allude to it, but I think it's not just what he'll be stepping into but what he'll leave behind - harmony, team spirit and home. The homing instinct is strong for Scousers.
I understood why McManaman left - we'd packed him onto a plane to sign for Barcelona the previous summer before they signed Rivaldo instead and Owen never quite developed the loyalty for the club we'd have liked.
But if Trent moves, I actually think he'll miss Liverpool more than Liverpool misses him (not saying we won't miss him, because we will).

xabi alonso is surely a factor. ancelottis madrid shits trophies, we assume alonso comes in and does well but nobody knows for sure.

i think he pictures himself in white with his buddy jude but i can see a last minute waver in that conviction.

I suspect Trent Alexander-Arnold ...

I'm not so sure of that. Unless they ask him revert to an attacking RWFB, but that's not what he wants is it. If he's inverting or expected to do a lot of running back defending the RW ... it'll all end in tears (on the bench).

i could swear that you argued the opposite with me a while back!

The thing with Trent is that he has been so extremely vocal about how much he enjoys working under Arne and his main goal is to win trophies. At the moment we are top of just about everything, so I wouldnt rule out him signing a new contract.

I won’t rule it out, but I think it’s unlikely. 80/20 in favour of Madrid

I don't remember that at all ... but I may well have - I can change my opinion from day to day and then back again. I confuse and descend into debates with myself at times !

Much as I hate to agree with you since we are in the middle of a spat in another thread - yeah he seems to be loving it here under Slot. Much more than the last season with Klopp I'd guess (since his face often looked like a burnt kipper).

I like to read all the praise he heaps on Slot's approach & tactical brilliance as a clear sign he is staying. My glass is always 95% full, until some fucker knocks it over
Oh there are plenty on this forum that will delight in doing that to you (all whilst moaning away).

Somewhere on the European continent there's a forum where they say never to sign a scouser cause they don't travel well. Just like us with Italians.

Is Trent’s missus a bit of a dog too?

Just look at the Italian Arsenal signed. He's been perma crock since he arrived. Momo was right about Italians and the PL.
Only one Italian has won the premier league.

Edit. It’s two, only 1 outfield player has done it.

That number is about to double once our lad comes back to become our 2nd half player of the season!!!

Actually it's about to triple, because we're signing Bastoni in Jan :smuggrin:
