Barcelona are demanding a whopping £20m for Chelsea andManchester United target Alex Song, reports the Sunday Express, but it remains to be seen if the Premier League duo will be prepared to meet that valuation.

If Luiz is supposed to be worth 50m then 20m for song is probably a bit cheap.

You could say he's going for a song.

Sorry *gets coat*

Looks like Courtois will be coming back to Chelsea.

I can only hope that Mourinho sticks with Ceck as his #1 and it causes a major dressing room schism.

@GuillemBalague: According to @lamacope Higuain about to sign for FC Barcelona

Weird one if it goes through

[article=http://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2014/hatem-ben-arfa-in-advanced-talks-to-join-lekhwiya/]After exclusive reports from BeIN Sports last night, Get French Football News understands that the club that Newcastle United attacking midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa is in talk with is Lekhwiya. The club, who are on the verge of agreeing a deal to take Michael Laudrup on as manager, are in advanced talks with Ben Arfa, who absolutely wants to leave Newcastle after receiving poor treatment from the staff, especially Alan Pardew, according to a source close to the player.

Fee negotiations have begun between the two clubs and Ben Arfa is close to agreeing personal terms.[/article]

Google says Lekhwiya is in Qatar ... Huh?

Guess some Chelsea fan was a bit too excited about him:

The actual entry in Wiki is showing Atletico Madrid again, so I suppose this is an older cached copy in Google search.

but he's still relatively young, and could play for France if he sticks in Europe ... Is the money that 'crazy' you think?
Definitely.

I am purely speculating from his name but I imagine he has ties to one of the Arabic countries also.

Would he get in the French team? He can be fantastic one game and a no show the next , he's like the lite version of Nasri in just about every way and Nasri cannot get in the French squad.

Also he has a reputation for being a toxic little fucker doesn't he? Which might taint the opinion of any perspective club In Europe

TBF the only reason Nasri's not out there with the French squad is that his rep is even worse.
Yeah, I heard that. Wasn't it a case of he wouldn't get in the starting 11 and they didn't really want him sat with the other lads on the bench . It was either he starts or didn't go..

That's not how I understood it. The reports/discussions I've heard have suggested that his ability would get him in the side, but that Deschamps won't have him anywhere near the squad because of his disruptive influence on it, similar to the Pietersen situation in English cricket.

Re: Ben Arfa
[article=http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2658969/Everton-open-talks-8m-Wolfsburg-winger-Ivan-Perisic.html#ixzz34o0T1OsH ]The French midfielder's representatives are in advanced talks with Qatari side Lekhwiya, who are due to appoint Michael Laudrup as manager.

Al Sadd also want Ben Arfa and Barcelona midfielder Xavi. As reported last week, El Arabi have already offered Xavi a three year deal worth £21million and Ben Arfa is considering offers reputedly worth £7m a year.[/article]

That's £145k/wk
