Well how much is cut-price. I thought Krkic was going to be something special but seems to have faded. Wouldn't mind seeing what BR could do to resurrect his career.

Barcelona attackers Bojan Krkic and Ibrahim Afellay are likely to be casualties of Luis Enrique's summer clear-out at the Nou Camp, leaving Liverpool and Arsenal to battle it out for their signatures.

With the retirement of long-serving centre-back Carles Puyol and the likely departures of Xavi and Victor Valdes, the new Barca boss is planning for the future and has deemed Bojan and Afellay surplus to requirements in Spain.

Both players are likely to be made available for cut-price fees and would relish the challenge of Premier League football, added to the fact that each player has a point to prove.

Bojan, who became the youngest player to appear for the club in La Liga at the age of 17 in 2007, has struggled to become a first-team regular at Barca and joined Roma on a permanent deal in 2011 before Barca exercised their buyback clause and brought him back to the club less than two seasons later.

After impressing for Holland in the 2010 World Cup, Afellay signed for the Spanish giants in January 2011 but the 28-year-old has been blighted with injuries ever since - including suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in training. Subsequently, the former PSV star was loaned out to Schalke 04, and despite being back at Barca, he is not part of Enrique's first-team plans.

Why would anyone want to battle it out to get Ibrahim Affelay. Was promising a few years ago but that's about it.

Bojan was shite at Ajax. I expected him to tear up the Eredivisie but he was not good enough.

They had an option for a second year but have turned him down as they prefer the kids coming through to him.

Chelsea were said to be one of them, and Costa on his own won't provide sufficient firepower even for them. Wonder who they'll go for instead.

Appaz Mandzukic is on his way to Wolfsburg. A few Premiership teams have been chasing him.

Wolfsburg have crazy spending power now, don't they. Swung big deals for De Bruyne and Gustavo lately.

Wouldn't surprise me all that much if Mandzukic is their next big signing, they already have Olic after all.

Plus, I just realized that Wolfsburg was Mandzukic's old club.

Wolfsburg supervisory board chief to kicker:
"I can deny that emphatically. Mandzukic will not return to Wolfsburg"
Wolfsburg hope to sign Morata.

Costa hasn't looked clever as of late. He's obviously done nothing at the world cup, and he tailed off towards the end of the season with athletico. He could be knackered after a long season, but I'm hoping he'll just be shit for chelski when they get him.

Burnley striker Danny Ings is a transfer target for Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen and Wolfsburg. Ings, 22, was a key member of Burnley's Championship promotion team scoring 26 goals in all competitions last season.

The England U21 international has just one year left on his contract with the Clarets and new terms have yet to be agreed. Sean Dyche does not want to lose last season's Championship player of the year and the club are unwilling to sell unless a team stumps up £7m.

Bayer Leverkusen could offer Ings the chance at Champions League football while Wolfsburg have qualified for the Europa League group stage. However the German duo face competition from Everton, Liverpool, Newcastle and Southampton.

When asked about the ongoing rumours, Ings said: "I've still got a year left on my contract and I'm a player for Burnley Football Club. "I love it here so I'm just going to concentrate on that. "It's a family club and a great club to play for. It's a fantastic club. And I'm so proud of the lads and how well they've done this season.
"I live quite locally so I see a lot of fans and they show their appreciation for the whole team, not just me, and it's a great feeling to be a part of that.

  • DAILY STAR: Liverpool are demanding Alexis Sanchez be part of any deal if Barcelona want to take Luis Suarez to the Nou Camp.

[article=http://as.com/diarioas/2014/06/24/english/1403565957_171547.html]Second time lucky. After the shambles of last summer, Manchester United have decided to play the €36m required to release Ander Herrera from his contract, and the plyer himself has an agreement with Van Gaal's new team. As AS revealed last week, the English side have made the Bilbao man a top target.

It is goodbye to Athletic, with whom he had a contract until 2015, and is a blow to Ernesto Valverde's side and their upcoming Champions League camapign - something which United cannot offer Herrera following their disastrous season under David Moyes. It will be seen if the Basque side dip into the market to replace Herrera, with only one player of this level available to them (given their Basque-only policy): Atlético Madrid's Raúl García.

The transfer has picked up pace in the past few days because on July 1 his clause increases to €40m.[/article]

[article=http://as.com/diarioas/2014/06/24/english/1403564313_416473.html]Bein Sports tonight announced that Radamel Falcao has agreed a deal with Real Madrid and that it will be announced once the World Cup finishes. They said that the agreement was reached in the last few days, and that Falcao will realise his own personal dream of playing for Real Madrid, as this newspaper reported last Saturday. Bein is the sports channel of Al Jazeera, and is owned by the PSG owners.

As we explained on Saturday, Falcao is on holiday in Miami, and he has told his agent Jorge Mende that his dream was to play for Real Madrid, and that he was not willing to listen to offers from any club, apart from The Whites (he still owns a house in the La Finca neighbourhood in Madrid). It is rumoured that the Colombia striker had at least four offers from the Premiership (Chelsea, Manchester City, Spurs and Liverpool), but has rejected them all.

Now over his injury, the 28 year old is contracted with Monaco until 2018, and was in contention for a place at the World Cup, however he took the decision to withdraw himself from contention as to be fair to his teammates.[/article]

Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United have received encouragement in their pursuit of Pedro as the winger wants talks with Barcelona's sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta before deciding whether to remain at the Catalan club.

All three Premier League giants, as well as Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, are monitoring the forward's situation closely after he admitted earlier this month that he is unsure over his future at the Nou Camp.

New Barca boss Luis Enrique, as talkSPORT told you on June 12, wants the Spain international to stay but now Spanish newspaper Sport claim the 26-year-old will seek clarification over his future as he weighs up offers from across Europe.

With Lionel Messi and Neymar virtually guaranteed starting places in two of Barcelona's three attacking positions, Pedro is wary of limited first-team involvement next term. Alexis Sanchez, another Liverpool target, is still on the books at Barcelona.

As such, Pedro, who featured in 54 of Barca's 59 matches last season, wants assurances, and he could pursue a move to the Premier League if he is allocated a lesser role for the forthcoming season.

West Ham are preparing to beat Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham to Ukrainian star Yevhen Konoplyanka.

Liverpool were heavily linked with Konoplanka in January, although a deal fell through at the last minute. United and Tottenham have both since expressed an interest in the player, but so far no move has been forthcoming.

The 24-year-old has a £12m buy-out clause in his contract but there are some concerns about whether the player wants a move to England. Indeed, Konoplyanka has previously stated his desire to stay at Dnipro and play in the Champions League next term.

The Hammers have embarked on an ambitious overhaul of their squad this summer with Mauro Zarate and Cheikhou Kouyate having already arrived. But a move for a hot property like Konoplyanka would show real ambition from the east London club.

It now remains to be seen whether the Hammers are willing to stump up the £12m to trigger the clause in his contract and - more importantly - whether Konoplyanka is willing to move despite a lack of European football next term.

Any idea if we are interested in Memphis Depay? The little I have seen of him reminds me of a young C Ronaldo.
