Transfer Rumours

[article]Luis Enrique has reportedly stepped in and blocked Adriano’s proposed switch from Barcelona to Roma.

Reports over the weekend had speculated that the Brazilian was in line for a €10m switch out to the Italian capital and had provisionally agreed to a €2.5m contract.

However, the Corriere dello Sport indicate that the Catalan club’s new Coach Luis Enrique has blocked the transfer from going through.

It is believed that the deal has collapsed almost entirely, with the Giallorossi now speculated as considering alternative targets, including Davide Santon, Juan Bernat, Gabriel Silva and Mimmo Criscito.[/article]

[article]oma are prepared to sell Adem Ljajic plus cash for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Borussia Dortmund are in an increasingly tense situation with Gabon international Aubameyang, who only joined a year ago for €13m plus €2m in add-ons.

This has sparked reports in Italy that Roma are diving in with a bid.

Although there is talk of a buy-out clause worth €8m, Borussia seem determined to hold out for €18m.

Aubameyang would be an ideal option for Roma, as he fits into Rudi Garcia’s system and has already worked with the Coach at Lille in 2009-10.

He is also familiar with Italy, having growing up in the Milan youth academy.

The other interesting element in this story is the knowledge Borussia Dortmund are interested in Roma forward Ljajic.

The ex-Fiorentina talent hasn’t quite delivered on his promise and question marks remain over his attitude.

It could suit both clubs and players for an exchange to go through.[/article]

Yeah, good player, I'd have been happy with him.

The "Metro" today is apparently claiming the Mancs are lining up a £65 mill.bid for Suarez. In other news, it's now published by Andrex.

Ajax should produce more than 12 million
Liverpool and Dortmund to Blind

From our special reporters
RIO DE JANEIRO -
The probability that Daley Blind (24) this season is still playing for Ajax, is smaller by the day. After many clubs already inwonnen information, whether two potential buyers were concrete.

Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool knocked - albeit through intermediaries - in football affairs director at Marc Overmars. Around the neck of the left back a price tag of more than twelve million.

Blind made a big impression in the first game of Orange at this World Cup. The son of Danny Blind kept in the 5-1 victory over Spain for two wonderful assists.

Looks like he is staying.

Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler says he turned down a move to Arsenal in January and plans to remain with the Bundesliga club this summer.
The 20-year-old Germany international was linked with a move to the Gunners during the transfer window.
Draxler, who signed a five-year contract with Schalke in May, said: "In January, there was the offer of Arsenal, but I decided to stay.
"I will do the same this summer. I want to play one year more in Schalke."
Draxler's current contract reportedly contains a 45m euros (£38m) buyout clause.
He has played on the left of midfield and in a central attacking midfield role, scoring 15 goals in more than 100 appearances.
Draxler factfile

Age: 20
Born: Gladbeck, Germany
Germany caps: 11 (1 goal)
Schalke appearances 2013-14: 38 (6 goals)
Draxler was an unused substitute as Germany beat Portugal 4-0 in their opening World Cup group game in Salvador on Monday and is confident his country can win the trophy for the first time since 1990.
"We were a little bit nervous before the game," said Draxler. "But we know we are very strong and we wanted to show the world we can win the title.
"There are many other great nations and teams here, but we are one of the favourites."
Thomas Muller scored a hat-tick to add to the five goals he scored in earning the Golden Boot at the 2010 World Cup.
"He is so dangerous in front of goal," said Draxler.
"He always knows where he has to be. That's his secret. He knows where he has to be to score goals."
Draxler said the 24-year-old Muller has the potential to become a Germany great given his striker rate and age.

Buying a defender based on playing a decent game at a World Cup makes me rather worried. I still have some mental scar tissue remaining from Phil Babb's time in a Red shirt.

He has not been a defender much this season. Spent most of the time in midfield as Boilesen was relatively uninjured for once.

Rumour's are that the Dutch are back to a 4-3-3 for next game so a chance to see him at LB instead of LWB.
