Transfer Rumours

I could be way off but can't shake a nagging feeling that Pedro would be a bad buy. I have nothing to back this up.

How the fuck are Chelsea getting 40 mill for David Luiz????
PSG are insane to say the least.

You'd struggle to say he's a 20mill defender. I guess it's because he likes wandering upfield pissing about.
Maybe we should offer PSG Agger for 35mill.

Also, Luiz for 40million. FFS. If that happens he will be close to accumulating 100 million in transfer fees. (including the fact Chelsea bought back Matic)

Yep, it ridiculous, it almost seems suspicious how much money Chelsea are getting for transfers, £50million for Luis who's had a bang average season, £38million for Mata who barely played and £18million for De Bruyne who's a kid, it's madness, they're basically being bank rolled by some obscene transfers, which is frustrating as it puts them at such an advantage.

Kind of agree, I think it's because in my head without any facts to back it up, Sanchez is more pacy and I think pacy players are made for our system and are more likely to fit in instantly. But doubt they would sell Sanchez, also not sure why but Sanchez I reckon is still very hungry to prove himself, a little bit of pure hunger like Suarez.

Educate me Mr Twist - What sort of player is he? I'd always heard he was pretty good.

Isn't he a striker who is continually shoved out wide cos Barca don't play with strikers? I am not an avid La Liga follower so you (or others) may know better than me but he's strikes me as being a bit of a nothing player (clearly that term is relative) when I watch him. I'd prefer Konoplyanka or, obviously, Sanchez.

Mate I know fuck all about most players outside of LFC - But thanks for the info. 🙂

wondering a little why we put so much effort into getting him just a few months ago but don't seem as fussed now . Were we buying for the sake of buying? Do we think we can get better now we have champs league ? Has sterling's rise convinced rodgers he doesn't need this lad ?

I think its because of the rise of sterling and because he would rather lallana than konoplyanka.

Keni or LTW would explain the differences between Pedro and Sanchez. I think they follow La Liga pretty closely.

Pedro is very fast himself. I'm not sure who is the fastest out of the two.

It might be simply down to the fact that Pedro has come up through the ranks at Barca and you wonder whether he'll be the same player at another club in a different system. Plus he can be a bit inconsistent.

Sanchez is a bit more worldly and is stronger.

Nah, as far as I know, he was more of a wide man and that may be in part why he looked a bit of out sorts to begin with at Barca. This season with the game more stretched and Barca not sticking to their tiki taka / high pressing game the way they did under Pep, he's looked far better.

Perhaps you've caught him a couple times when they've switched his position to a more central role so that they've got someone who can run in behind the defence.

Chavs are brilliant at selling players and getting top dollar. How do they do that? Ayre, take a page out of that book

Some people (and I’m not one of them) say Pedro is a one-trick Pony BUT it’s a great trick. He basically makes the same run over and over. From the outside wing to in between the full back and the centre back. He does this all game constantly and for some reason they’ve never been able to stop him scoring from that one move. The amount of goals he scores from that position is ridiculous take a look at his goals on youtube majority are from that sort of position.

Sanchez is faster, stronger and I think a better goalscorer. Movement wise, Pedro is probably better, and better suited to a tiki taka. That's where my concern is - I think he'd struggle the way we currently play, while Sanchez would fit in seeminglessly.

Problem is sanchez will be big time expensive.

I suspect there is some kind of financial scheme at play. Maybe not with Mata deal – United were clearly desperate and Mata still had great reputation in England. But Luiz and De Bruyne – definitely. Now they are reporting Luiz will go for not 40, but £50M. Fuck me!

Who would be better for us? Kono or Pedro/Sanchez?

I would prefer Kono - I think he has the ability to impose himself on game more and can play central as well as wide. Pedro is great but can disappear at times whereas Sanchez sometime comes across as a bit of a one trick pony, but he is probably the biggest goal threat of them all.

Maybe it's a ploy between the two owners to bolster each others funds by doing overpriced deals in alternate summers? Cynical perhaps, but could happen.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Vitesse Arhem buying a PSG ballboy for 50m to balance it out, they are not affected by FFP.
