Pat Mustard told me that we are taking Robbie Keane for next season.
He's in the know.
He's Ian Ayre's milkman.

Load of bollox! Everyone knows Pat Mustard has been dead for years. Murdered in his own bedroom with a piece of lead piping. Numerous suspects but nobody has been charged.

No he escaped that and the milk float explosion.

Underwhelmed by a of the players we are linked to at the moment.

Hopefully it's just paper talk.

We've been linked with so many players its insane.

Lovren I'd be okay with but he'll cost a fortune.

Liverpool have made an approach to Bayern Munich for Swiss starlet Xherdan Shaqiri and are confident of adding the wing wizard to potent strike force aiming to make a big impact in the Champions League next season.

Shaqiri has shown flashes of genuine quality for Bayern this season but still been made to wait for consistent first-team opportunities by first-choice wide duo Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, among the very best players in their position on the planet.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers believes he can offer the 22-year-old regular playing time at Anfield and instructed Liverpool chiefs to sound out Bayern over the youngster's availability earlier this week, according to The Guardian.

Bayern bought one of Europe's most exciting talents for €11.6m in 2012 but are currently considering whether his place among Pep Guardiola's substitutes on a consistent basis is tenable moving forward.

Liverpool are an exciting side on the rise and believe the lure of a fresh start in the Premier League can persuade Shaqiri his future lies elsewhere, part of a massive spending spree Rodgers feels is necessary to maintain progress on multiple fronts next season, with Champions League football back on the agenda.

Everton have joined Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool for the pursuit of Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, according to the Daily Mail.
The player was sent on a year-long loan to Rayo Vallecano this season, where he has excelled in midfield and has caught the eye of clubs across Europe.

Everton are now looking at a loan deal for the player, having benefitted from the presence of Gareth Barry, Gerard Deulofeu and Romelu Lukaku at Merseyside over the length of the season.

However, the midfielder has recently signed a contract extension with Atletico, tying his future in Spain till 2018 while inserting a £19.5m release clause in his contract.

Liverpool have reportedly had a talk with his father regarding a transfer but nothing has been decided as yet. It will be a major coup for Everton if they can persuade the midfielder to ply his trade with the Toffees and help them challenge for a place in the Champions League next season.

Liverpool are considering an approach in signing Chelsea midfielder Thorgan Hazard in the summer transfer window, according to the Metro.

The Blues signed the 21-year-old from Lens in 2012 after completing the acquisition of his brother, Eden Hazard. Thorgan spent the last two seasons on loan at the Belgium club Zulte Waregem.

The Belgium international has been in brilliant form for Waregem and his impressive form has seen him being named the Player of the Season in Belgium Pro League. He will return to Stamford Bridge after completing his two-year loan spell with Waregem.

The report claims Thorgan is unlikely to be included in Jose Mourinho's plan after having an impressive spell in his native. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has already opened talks with the west London club in order to sign the Belgium midfielder.

The Merseyside club are looking to step up the process to bring Thorgan to Anfield and make a £6m bid for his signature. The Reds will face tough competition in landing the Blues midfielder in the coming transfer market.

Liverpool are aware the midfielder is attracting interest from clubs across Europe. He has been a top transfer target for Premier League side Everton while German outfit Schalke are also keen on signing Chelsea man.

The midfielder's father, Thiery Hazard, has confirmed that several clubs are interested in signing the player.
"We will quietly look at the all the offers and see which one Thorgan is most comfortable with," the Metro quoted Thierry Hazard as saying.

Mario Mandzukic has been left out of Bayern Munich’s squad for this weekend’s DFB-Pokal Cup final amid reports of a summer move to Chelsea.

The striker has been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge as part of a deal which would see David Luiz join Pep Guardiola’s side.

And the rumours, which surfaced yesterday, have grown after Guardiola announced Mandzukic has been omitted from Bayern’s squad for tomorrow’s showdown with Borussia Dortmund.

Manchester United scouts have had watched Sporting’s highly rated central midfielder William Carvalho in the last 18 months or so probably more than any other players they’ve scouted.

The 22-year-old has had a phenomenal season under his belt. He was targeted by several European heavyweights but the Portuguese midfielder seemed destined to join Manchester United, with English press even going further to claim ‘deal has been done’.

However, the situation has changed. Manchester United will be soon appointing Louis van Gaal as their new manager and the Dutchman doesn’t include him in his long list of players, he wishes to bring in at Old Trafford.

Yesterday, The Guardian listed the names of the players Van Gaal wants to bring in at Old Trafford. Carvalho’s name wasn’t mentioned anywhere and now Portuguese newspaper Record is speculating that United’s interest in the player has died down.

This might open the door for Liverpool, who are closely monitoring his situation as well. The Reds need a central midfielder in the summer, but unless Sporting reduces his transfer value, frankly speaking, not a single club would gamble on him, including Liverpool.

Sporting want to keep him for another year, in the hope his market value will rise, but they must understand the trick can back fire as well (Manchester United, the best example). It will be interesting to see whether Liverpool make any formal move for the midfielder and how Sporting reacts to it.

According to reports from the Guardian, v.Gaal has already handed Ed Woodward, United’s executive vice-chairman, his list of desired players.

Manchester United are looking to spend big this summer and the new manager will be handed a transfer war-chest to bring in quality players. The top potential acquisitions includes Dutch winger Arjen Robben, his club team-mate Thomas Muller and Borussia Dortmund central defender, Mats Hummels.

Van Gaal also have given his approval for Southampton’s left back Luke Shaw andBayern Munich’s world class midfielder Toni Kroos.
United had offered £27m for Shaw, the young talented left-back from Southampton, but it was rejected. The Red Devils are determined to land him in summer and would approach again with an improved offer.

As for other targets, it will be interesting to see, how Manchester United can lure them without Champions League football.

Liverpool FC have no plans to offer Glen Johnson a new contract this summer – but they aren’t preparing to sell the defender.
The England right-back is down to the final 12 months of the lucrative deal he penned back in 2011.

Boss Brendan Rodgers said in March that starting negotiations over an extension would be “a priority” during the close season but the ECHO understands that Liverpool are now in no rush to sort out his future.

The Reds are prepared to retain Johnson’s services for next season and run the risk of losing him on a free transfer in 2015. By then he will be nearly 31 and have little sell-on value anyway.

Johnson’s form was erratic for most of the campaign and he didn’t come close to justifying his £110,000 per week salary which makes him one of the club’s highest earners. Anfield officials believe he has done little to merit the security of a new deal but they don’t intend to off-load him.

Selling Johnson could raise £3million to £4million but Liverpool believe having invested so much in him since his £18million switch from Portsmouth in 2009 they would be better off keeping him for 2014/15 rather than having to splash out on a replacement.

Rodgers will need greater strength in depth to cope with the added demands of Champions League football and knows Johnson’s experience could be important.

We've been linked with Bertrand for a good 18 months now and it's meant to be a solid link, so I wouldn't be surprised. I'm not that convinced by him, he's got a fair bit of potential, but he looks as erratic as Johnson at times.

How will work with regards to FFP, unless they sell big too, (difficult to see how, unless they sell Rooney)?

I don't think Bertrand is an improvement on Enrique or prob Flanno.

Rogers said he wants to go for QUALITY which hardly fits Bertrand.

Don't they also have a huge sponsorship deal starting this/next season ? Plus 90+m from the PL plus TV + CL money for this season. FFP (in the PL) is currently only going to affect City/Chelsea (maybe, they didn't spend much last Summer did they ?) and some smaller clubs.
It would have been better for UEFA to have also set an absolute transfer maximum (say 60-75m, unless for a single deal) per season as well as have it related to income, to stop these ridiculous sponsorship deals (and how can a sponsorship be retroactive FFS) such as that of PSG with Qatar.

I wouldn't be surprised to see FFP revised soon, because clubs (and the sport in general) clearly found a loophole to exploit straight away. Should they just make it applicable to certain income? Like money from the league, money for progress in competitions, etc. That would surely be fairer.

"and how can a sponsorship be retroactive FFS) such as that of PSG with Qatar"

Platini's son works for Qatar Sports Investment ffs. You really couldn't make this shit up

They'd have to sign those players first though.
I can see them getting Robben and Shaw. Kroos, Hummels and Muller on the other hand will be difficult.

They'll be linked with alot of players, I think the attraction is still there regardless, but they (like most clubs) will only get a couple of their targets. I hope they don't get Robben.
