Yes, United's is all staff (staff numbers 992 as per the posts above). This is a disclosure required by law in UK accounts. No obligation to disclose players and staff separately so most clubs don't do this. That detail might be in United's stock exchange info but have never bothered to look.
I did do a long post on this payroll figure a few weeks back - key points (which some posters have picked up above):
- Will include CL bonuses (triggered by winning the final on 1 June, which was the first day of the accounting year). This would only be the difference between bonuses for reaching the final (which would be charged in 2019) and winning it (charged in 2020)
- Won't include PL win bonuses as we hadn't won it by 31 May 2020, but would include CL qualification and performance bonuses (would be lots of goal / assist / clean sheet bonuses due to how well be played). Some players might also get bonuses for 2nd place, which was guaranteed when the season paused.
- Bonuses for World Club Cup and Super Cup probably wouldn't be that significant - players / agents tend to focus on PL / CL success
- Possibly some chunky staff bonuses as well for the CL success (particularly senior staff)

That isn't (or shouldn't be) a surprise. We have a squad that consists mostly of mature, proven, top quality players. Plus of course we had PL and CL wins to cover. In many cases however their contracts will expire in a few years, along with their viability, and then the wages total will drop substantially.

These figures show a basic salary of X, when you factor in the bonuses, LFC pay some of the highest wages in world football. So Salah is probably earning close to £500k a week

To be honest, FSG pull surprises for us, all these targets that have been linked with us, are probably all a load of bollox. How many of you had an idea we were gonna sign any of the players we have done under their ownership...the only ones I kind of knew based on news reports were Gini, VVD, Alisson and Thiago. All the rest have been like what the fuck? I mean Jota for 45M last season was a complete fucking surprise, and remember Fab signing a few hours after losing a fucking CL final.

I think we are definitely gonna sign 2 players, but based on the wank fest pre season thread it seems we have a squad of world class players, so maybe there is no need.

I don't get all this high praise of Edwards. Pre-pandemic. He has had a few whoppers in his time. I'd say his opposite number at Leicester is doing a sensational job.
 
How could we possibly be “long way apart” on value…we’re only asking for 12-13m unless Lyon have come in with a 200k bid 5k upfront or some tight shit fuckin cunts that they are. Aulas go fuck yourself.
 
Southampton have had a bid accepted for Blackburn striker Adam Armstrong.

Armstrong, 24, is set to have a medical with the Saints on Tuesday after the bid, which could be worth more than £20m with add-ons, was accepted.

He scored 28 goals in 40 Championship games in 2020-21, the second-highest figure in the division last season.

Southampton are in need of a striker after selling 29-year-old England international Danny Ings to Aston Villa for £25m earlier this month.

Armstrong, who represented England at Under-21 level, began his career with Newcastle and had loan spells with Coventry, Barnsley, Bolton and Blackburn before moving to Rovers on a permanent deal in 2018.

Southampton had an offer rejected for Armstrong last week, but returned with an improved bid.

The Saints finished 15th in the Premier League in 2020-21 and begin their 2021-22 campaign away at Everton on Saturday, 14 August

There isn't a man alive who gets every transfer right. Compare Edwards' transfer record against that of any other club ... leaves them in the dust.

For completed transfers he's been superb to date, even if we could have done with 2-3 more in the past 2 seasons.
 
...which is down to the owners, not Edwards, in any event. Edwards' record is top notch anyway, but the fact that he's achieved it within FSG's tightly controlled business model is an extra feather in his cap.

Where's this come from? Because if we're paying Ben fucking Davies 10k less than konate I'll be livid

He has been good and exceptional in one two occasions, but his had his mistakes. He isn't going to turn water into wine, split the moon, or divide the river Mersey. Div at best looks to generate £10m and Shaq though might be worth £15m, its likely he too will not fetch more than £10m. Doubt Edwards will be able to get the £30m plus he wants for both
 
He's nowhere near our level, but Southampton are getting a very good player in Armstrong. I'm interested to see how he does on the weekly in the prem.
