Torres gone. Scum gone to more scum

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Chelsea are 10 points off the top off the league! They wont win it this season, and with an ageing squad, you cant guarantee they will be any closer next season.

Champions League - you need to get past Barca, Man United, Real Madrid, just to name a few.

What a dick trying to force a move now.

Or he'll suffer from the McManaman syndrome and win the CL twice.

It's not just about trophies though.

It's about a legacy.

I bet if McMoneyman went for a stroll at the Bernebeu tomorrow half the fans wouldnt even recognize him.

That's not going to happen at Anfield.

Medals and shit are nice; but you dont take them with you..but the memories you give people and the legacy you leave lasts fucking forever.

A bunch of Greek fans (or Turks or Cyrpiots) were visiting Liverpool and actually knocked on Shankly's door just to say hello to Nessie.

Torres will never get that.

Hodgson told him

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

He is a great player, but if him moving means we can go on a purchase 1 or 2 other great players then I am in favour of it.

When on top form he is unplayable, and arguably the best in the world but he is too often injured or returning from injury making it difficult for us to get a run of games going.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Torres obviously at Goodison today, the Chelsea fans just been singing "Torres give us a wave, Torres Torres give a wave"

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Apparently he isn't. That would be a very stupid move...
because Liverpool have not given chelsea permission to talk to him.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

There is more to this than meets the eye. I agree with Vlad. The club is being extremely clever. It's ultimately about Torres wanting to go but I think the club have played their hand excellently. Didn't Roy say we'd cross this bridge....

Let me explain things simply using a quote from Mark Mc.

There is no name on the back of a Liverpool shirt thats more important than the crest on the front of it.

Quote stolen for fb status.

I think every red should have that as their status.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Re not being able to attract top players, who did we really have when we signed Torres, reina, alonso, mascher, lil Luis, glojo? At the time all players wanted a step up and play regular football as far as I am concerned though some people knew them before they signed for us they were catapulted to the top of world footballing elite by playing for lfc. I'm convinced luaus Suarez will be the same and I'm also convinced we will continueto attract good players who can become world class at our world class club. We won't buy the likes of kaka, ronaldo messi etc cos we don't have the money but we can buy quality players who with the right manager and tactics etc can push for honours every season.

Luaus Suarez? Charlie Adamso? Are you David Pleat in disguise?

Liverpool as a club itself is a big attraction. Ask Comolli!

No.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Thing that annoys me about this, chelsea are clearly panic buying to try and save their season. so far they have been unsuccessful in every player they are trying to land. This is a club on the decline. Liverpool show better prospects of recovery than chelsea in the long term as things are already being put into place to aid recovery. Chelsea haver an ageing squad. They stand a real risk of missing out on the champions league next season. Torres should be able to see this, he has a real risk of making a sideways move, in terms of a player who is hungry for success.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Torres' head's been turned by some humungous wage offer. Success is just the public excuse.

We're grand.....Suarez rhymes with Torres, just give him the number 9 shirt and we're sorted. Also, time to rename it to 'The Suarez Bounce'!!

Yes if you wanted to go to a club with 'ambition' City would be your destination. You could become another of their 97 strikers on the books

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

We should tell Chelsea, if you want Torres it's £50M plus Anelka for loan till rest of the season. Take it or leave it.

Getting Anelka for loan would give us untill summer to find a replacement for him.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

I say unless they make an offer we can't refuse, don't let him leave until the summer even if he throws a hissy fit. If he doesn't want to play then make him sit in the stands and sue his ass off if doesn't want to play. He has a long contract, 6 months won't decrease his value even if he doesn't play in that 6 months. Time these fcking players are made an example off, if the bid is 28 million then it's a fcking disgrace and should be publically laughed at.
He has a long term contract and we have the power to demand the correct price. At the very least get the price we won't and raise a biddinbg war in the summer, which surely there will be if he was available. We should not at any point cave in like we were forced with Masher on the last day, had enough of these players forcing our hand. We should at least look for 50, very least.
