Torres gone. Scum gone to more scum

Too good for us? Bollocks. Chelsea may be a better team but they'll never be a bigger club nor will they tantamount to anything much other than a plastic entity financed by a dubious sugar daddy. Has anyone considered this - this is possibly the last window those type of sugar daddy clubs can invest heavily before the financial fair play rules come into place?

The move, from his perspective, doesn't make much sense at all, other than it being a quick fix. Longterm there doesn't seem much logic, unless he knows something we don't.

City or barca are the only other 2 really. But still. It's all shit

i'm not devastated though. Surprisingly

Nor me. I idolised Owen as a kid, but since he left, and Gerrard handed in two transfer requests, I decided never get attached to any players any more. Waste of time.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

If he wants to go ,let him.

I hate this kind of player.

like the Chinese said 'Once betray always a betrayer.'

fuck off Torres.

I still remember Gerrard's situation also. Mark1975 nearly cry that day, I think is at koptalk. ;D
until today Gerrard still cant get back my love to him after that last minutes U-turn .

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

All this really proves is that Nando is a bit dim in the head.

Won't go to city who are clearly on the up but is more than happy to go to chelsea, who are certainly in a period of uncertainty.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

To be honest the thing that scares me the most when Torres fucks off is our ability to attract top talent. We'll be losing a good bargaining chip. For instance I'm sure one of the attractions for Suarez was forming a partnership with torres. If we went after hazard (for example) we could have listed the quality players already on the books.

yes, good.

I never idolised player.

I'm not sure I agree Fabio, if we wait until the Summer we're protected by his contract clause. Selling now would probably mean getting around £10m less.
How does the clause protect us?

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

In terms of talent he is better than us. I would say that Carra, Reina, Torres, Gerrard deserve to play alongside some of the best footballers in the world, and not the average collection of shite we surround them with.

He's not going to be in the CL until 2012 at the earliest so I fully understand why he wishes to leave the club, but I don't see why he has to be at this exact moment. He's made a massive mistake trying to leave in January.

Because we can refuse bids until someone activates the clause, or at least offers something approaching that amount.

I know issues with him wanting to be succesful elsewhere, other than the way he's doing it, but to suggest he's 'better' or 'too good' for the club is all my arse .

This has been sold to him as a shot at the champs league. He's eligible this season, and the chavs have a decent chance with a coach who has been there and done it. He wants a shot at the CL and then I wouldn't be surprised if he angles for a move to Barca in 18 months.

But we can do it without the clause too. All it does is force us to sell if they offer the said amount.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Traditionally, isn't January a more expensive time to buy players? There is no way we should look at anything less than 50 mill up front.

Of course it does, but it's unlikely that we'll get that amount 'now', so we could potentially be raising another £10m by waiting to offload until the Summer.

I still don't see how we are protected by the clause though but I see your point. I do think/hope we can get £50m this month.

Let me explain things simply using a quote from Mark Mc.

There is no name on the back of a Liverpool shirt thats more important than the crest on the front of it.

Thats why I never print a name on the kits I buy.

Thommo on SSN Saturday Twaddle is suggesting that we should ask for £40M + Anelka

Make it £50m + Anelka on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy for £4m. And the fuckers pay his wages for 6 months.

So long as we get the correct money for a player of Torres's stature, then I wouldn't be so worried.

It's all about our ability to realise ambition. If our warchest was £50m plus whatever NESV decides to invest, we'll get good players here I have no doubt.

Look at Inter a couple of Summers ago. They sold Ibrahimovic to Barca and then invested the money wisely enough to win the treble.

This is the - we have to sell and we need striker desperately approach...

Anelka wouldnt even be considered otherwise.

Im flip flopping today... between getting rid and sticking it out until summer.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

I think we should look at the Ibrahimovic transfer, Inter to Barca as our negotiating base. Torres is a better player, so the deal should be worth more to us.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

It's all good with the money, but I'd be happier if he stayed tbh.

Even after this.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

I remember that Keegan was on fire when he left us for Hamburg, we replaced him with Dalglish.

Rush left for Juventus and Aldridge came in.

In both cases we went on to bigger and better things.

Torres I'm afraid will suffer from the Owen syndrome. He'll leave us and win fuck all!

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

A lot will depend on how tough FSG are willing to play this. Scum held out for 80 million because they held all the cards; if Gayface tried to pull any shit they'd just freeze his ass on the bench as long as they liked. They still had a strong squad.

Henry can come out and say he's ging to back Kenny in the summer, and make sure Torres knows that they're willing to give him splinters.

The season's a write off, save for the UEFA Cup and UEFA places.

And yes, it's important too...but we need to show Chelsea that Torres is a player along the realms of Massive Zlatan and Gayface and we're not intrested in any deals which include Daniel fucking Sturridge.

If Overratedovic can go for 40 million and Eto we can ask for 65 fucking million.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

If he leaves, the replacement will also have to be potential world class material.

Benzema
LLorente
Cavani
Pato
Aguero
Lukaku

Somthing along those lines

Or he'll suffer from the McManaman syndrome and win the CL twice.
