Torres gone. Scum gone to more scum

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Does it matter if they get knocked out. Torres will still be cup-tied.

Marca reckon we're holding out from 70m euros. Bite their hands off.

What's that in real money, £60 mill? Throw in Anelka on loan (to save us scratching around for a replacement) and I'd take it too.

And the Arse can get to f'ck with that offer BTW.

What's €70M in pounds ?
A shade over £60 mill.at today's exchange rate.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Arsenal can fuck off. Wenger doesn't even like spending more than 15 mill on a player, how the fuck is he going to spend 50 mill.

They can't match the wages either

Rubbish mate. FSG have had the club just over 3 months. Torres disillusion has been around for a while and it's well known. There's a few things that sours this for me though.

1. He committed himself to the club less than 3 weeks ago
2. The timing of this is disgraceful
3. His reason for being unsettled was lack of ambition and the club not matching his. Well what's makign a record signing then ?
4. LFC have been poor for a year or so. Part of that has been down to his injuries and his sulking on the pitch
5. He wants to go to Chelsea, the soulless face of football which goes against everything he preaches about.

None of this is the fault of FSG

Fuck him anyway. We should play hardball with the fucker. He leaves on our terms not his.

Couldn't have put it better. Spot on.

Even (perhaps especially) if it's actually been made, the offer's a joke and should be treated as such.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

I'd rather we did a Fergie and made him stay til the summer, get a bidding war started.

I'm not having him and those cunts trying to dictate to us.

Torres is too good for us. He's not in the CL. He won't be in the CL league next year either. And he's not a boyhood red or anything.

Of course the timing stinks to high heaven, but that's all I've got against him.

I argued on here that if were going to leave Chelsea would be his most likely destination. Where else can he go?
He has outscored DJ Campbell by one goal this season.

Is DJ Campbell good enough for us ?

I still don't see how we are protected by the clause though but I see your point. I do think/hope we can get £50m this month.
you're right, we're not mate, it's economically illiterate to suggest that we're preotected by the clause. that clause, if it exists, is for torres's benefit and that alone.

if it wasn't for that, i'd fancy our chances of getting £60m+ from city in the summer.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

16 minutes remaining..

still 1-0

Chelsea are a team clearly on the decline

They didn't look like one at Bolton. But yes, I guess they're about to go through massive changes in the summer.

We can still capitalise on it being there. If reports are true, bids are standing at around £35m (or £35m plus players). If we hold out until the Summer and play hardball, then there's more chance of a club bypassing us and triggering the clause. I'd be surprised if we got £50m in this window for him.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

If we can get £50m or more today, then do it. If not, wait until the summer. Don't wanna wait until the last day to buy our replacements.

I agree with the first bit but not the second.

He's not worth 50m never mind 60m.
