Torres Disenchanted with Roy

Anyone who's watched us play this season would know all the players (with the possible exception of Stevie, who's been weirdly captain-like) are disenchanted and lack belief in our current manager. And Torres has been especially bad. Even when he's been on the field, he kinda looks like he's refusing to play.

Is that acceptable? No. BUT he is still the most exciting and talented striker I've ever seen play for this club, and I can't quite give up on the idea that we will get our old Nando back if we sort out the management situation.

I just want Roy gone. The performances, the media handling and some of his comments re players. Enough is enough.

If some senior players have said that they don't see a future at the club under the current manager, fine. If one of them have refused to play again under the current manager then of course that player needs to be moved on. Simple.

BUT, I doubt that Torres would do that. And Reina will be in goal tonight. I think this rumour is extremely exaggerated. Roy will leave, the rest is over the top.

Fucking 'ell Torres or Roy.

Bye Roy, make sure the door doesn't beat your arse on the way out, its a very good door.

Hang on, I've got a joke.

What do you get if you cross tired old mid table management skills with petulant spoilt twats?

if there is truth if the players forcing rafa out and truth in the players wanting roy out where does it stop? what if they don't like the tactics of the next manager?

I think we should just all hope that Bruce Dickinson crashes that plane and puts us all out of our misery.

We need a clear out.

Roy should be scattered to all four corners of earth upon his chuffing off, to ensure this fate doesn't fall upon any other club

We're in the midst of a clear out, where we are clearing out all our good players.

But hung on to Lucas when rafa came sniffing.... I want to kill now.

I still believe in you Nando........and you Ryan.

Rikjaard is going to get the most out the attacking lads with his 4-3-3

Gerrard--------Shelvey----------Meireles
-----------------------------------------
Babel-----------Torres----------Jovanovic

Would you prefer me as Manager over Roy right now Andy?

Player manager

Hmmm not sure.

I'd back my Management credentials, and my tactical insight would win the players over within a matter of minutes.

But that would all go to fuck when I got on the pitch and the players started to enquire as to why a shite version of Dirk Kuyt was running around with them.

Roy must not be allowed to push Nando out. that will be Reina gone too.If this is even remotely possible Kenny must step in.

Ugh, I am *so sick* of hearing about how we need to 'convince' Torres to stay.

Piss off already.

There is no striker in the world with the value of Fernando Torres. He has been extremelly important in us up our marketvalue as a club. He has been extremelly important for the incomes of our club. And besides that he is, in form and used right, a top three striker in the world. he is irreplacable. There is noone like him around. End off.

And he is being given the Bobby Zamora role by this lunatic that keeps on comapring Liverpool FC with Ørebro and Halmstad!

Why the hatred?

Did he bum Xabi or something? ;D

Fernando Torres is one player. He is not bigger than the club and nor should the club constantly be held at ransom to keep Torres happy. All this 'Liverpool have to convince Torres to stay' is BS, if someone doesn't want to play for us, sell him on, I can think of plenty of ways to spend £40-50million, that right now would give us a far better return than I see him giving is

And the Torres I've seen playing for the past year doesn't have the right to question anyone else's performances.

So briefly how would 40-50 mill bring in players with the same goal/match as well as marketvalue as Torres?

I'd start off by spending the first £25million of if on Suarez, he might actually play like he gives a shit.

I'm sick of seeing Torres sulking on the pitch and then to hear every moronic TV pundit talking about how WE need to convince him to stay, seriously WTF. And then the same shit on here.

Torres needs to man up or piss off. Liverpool FC will survive, I promise you.

Incidentally we wouldn't be in the position we're in right now if he had of even played to half his ability over the last calender year.

Suarez is a good striker.

But we have to compete on other areas as well. Neither Adidas nor other huge sponsors would increase their revenue to be branded with Suarez.

If we want the old Torres back we need to play what fits him and not what fits Zamora.

I don't know what you're talking about with all this branding and market value business, I'm talking about FOOTBALL. I know what we need on ths pitch; we need players who have a desire to play and play well. I haven't seen that from Torres for the best part of a year.

And Torres' brand has built up significantly since he came to us, another good player could be built up in the same way.

And I think we need Hodgson gone too, but I think he needs to go because he's the wrong man for the job, not because Fernando Torres doesn't like him.

anyone who wants torres out given the role he is currently being asked to play and given the man who is in charge is, IN-SANE.

Not everybody can be built up like that. He is an exceptional talent which is given the totally wrong circumstances to live it out on the pitch. He is one of three players in the world with that marketvalue. Ronaldo and Messi are the two others. Over the last year many others have been better, but I believ given the right team he will shine again.

He is ambitous as hell, but have been repeatedly been let down by the two clubs he wanted to play for. On top of that he have been plagued with injury.

But for a player like that to run around chasing defenders who has the ball instead of playing in a team that has the ball is useless. Even in homegames against Blackpool and Sunderland we have been the minority of possesion.

And for us to compete with other clubs in the foreseeable future we need to bring in money. To play out the football we need sponsors and people to want to watch us play. And with the new tv-deal comming we need to be attractive to get the big money. Our best card is to get Torres smiling again and scoring again. Our definitive worst card is to loose him to Man City or others we should be bigger than.

Insig, I'm not saying that that's not the best case scenario. I just don't think keeping him happy is a reason to sack a manager or that WE, the club, should be living in constant fear of Torres being unhappy and leaving. It's the wrong way round, if he really wants to leave, and he's playing like he does, he should be sold.

The only thing worse than having players who are not good enough to play for us, is having ones that are but can't be bothered.

I'm sure we'd all love to have the Torres of two years ago back, him suddenly reappearing would be great.

Thats probably true. But we will live to regret it for long long time. People here were happy to se Mascher go if we only banked som does on him. Look at the gap he has left? We havent won one decent midfield war since he has gone, and to be frank , we have been up against some pretty shit midfields since then!

i'm torn to bits on this one. one day i'm thinking that it's best for everyone to sell while we still get a (relaively) huge fee, the next i don't see any reason to sell now we've got new owners and a new direction.

i absolutely love him as a player - my favourite of all i've seen turn out for us, and it was something else watching him in that debut season, the one truly world-class attacking talent i'd got to see playing for the club, and i'll always remember that. but watching the situation unfold since has been agonising, it's like i almost feel the pressure of him not winning things myself - i feel a little bit guilty, like he's sacrificing a little bit of his career for us.

like keni said the other day, more than anyting it's just been really sad to watch - such high hopes! one way or the other, i want it over: if he can't get himself fit and performing consistently then he'll have to be sold.

I agree with Mr Hague.

It's a horrible situation, but I'm still hopeful that with a new ownership and a new manager Torres will rediscover his best form and decide to stay. I'm pissed off with him at the moment, but we can't just cut loose someone of his quality. We've been doing that too much in recent years and replacing them with shite, and look where we are.
