"If you were offered 10 points from blah blah blah..."

Tell you what. If any one of you had been offered a fucking draw with 25 minutes to go last night when we were 2-1, would you have taken it?

Would you fuck. We threw away easy points and we should be furious.
Easy points? What game were you watching? We got completely outplayed in the 2nd half and were lucky to get a point.

Disappointed yet but easy points dropped?

FFS.

I am happy that we are top of the table but given how we played in the first half, I am quite disappointed with how we played in the second half and the result.

Exactly how I feel, except replace disappointed with dejected.

We should have been at least 3-1 up a half time, and their two goals and one golden opportunity came from defensive fuck ups, he's right, we should be furious, accepting shit like that is just another way of saying we're happy to finish outside the top 4, and as I said in my other thread, I'm glad the team (well Sturridge and Rodgers at least) aren't just accepting it.

Our goals came from their fuck ups too.

We've been shite in five second halves out of five. But we're top of the league and unbeaten with our best player soon to come into the squad.

I reckon we'll improve. Yeah there are problems but fuck's sake. Top of the league!

They did yes, but we also created clear cut chances that weren't from fuck ups, Sturridges header, Henderson's blocked shot, so on.

Ding ding ding ... We're not doing a great job and we're top (something the Mancs did brilliantly last year). Hopefully we can improve and then results will be far easier for us to stomach.

UPWARDS!

I reckon the key to success for us is unwavering pessimism. This result came because too many on here were talking about what an easy win this would be.

All this talk of "but we are top of the league!" will no doubt result in a draw at best vs Southampton.

To echo Woland's point - top of the league and we really haven't played that well yet! IF we actually get the new players to gel over the next few weeks, get Suarez back and snaffle most of the "easy" points available to us over the next 4 or 5 games then we actually could feature in title race this season...........I've certainly not seen anything out there we should be scared of.

It's an interesting theory that a few optimistic mind states happening now around the globe and expressed on here via text can influence a football match occurring in five days.

I buy into this science wholeheartedly.

This reminds of the time we were first under Rafa and people were so happy about that they refused to really take on board any of our issues. It's the same now. We're top so things are really positive and we should all be optimistic about things to come because the only way is up right?

We are getting points on the board early which is great but we shouldn't shout down those drawing debate to our problem areas and missed opportunities.

I think it's a combination of our half-decent start coupled with the 3 favourites all looking vulnerable in their opening fixtures. If by an amazing coincidence Chelsea, United and City all have problems this season then realistically the league will be won with a relatively low total of points (maybe 76-78) in which case we could come into title contention. I doubt anyone here would consider us title contenders if the BIG 3 pick up form.

This is called 'hind sight'.

Most on here thought we were going to bloody lose ! A draw is an OK result that was realistic after 3 wins on the bounce. Neither terribly good nor terribly bad.

I'm happy that we escaped with a draw, given how fucking shit we were in the second half.

But overall, I'm not happy that we were shit in the second half and threw away 2 extra points.

I think there's 2 ways of looking at this situation.

That is pretty much spot on.

Our 2nd half performances is a great concern so far, I am also quite incredibly worried as to what Rodgers have in mind should Coutinho get injured for a longer spell.

WHY DID HE NOT BUY ERIKSEN!!!!!

*sry I could not hold it back any more... it makes me want to cry real man tears...

Because we have Suarez who can play there, Joe Allen who can play there, Luis Alberto who can play there, Eriksen would have solved fuck all, he's not a target anymore so drop this bullshit.

That was my point. is he still injured? We would have been much better off last night if had replaced the injured Coutinho.

I would have thought as much too, at least TRY and keep possession for more than three passes. Also missed him whenever we've subbed Sterling on late in the game.

Does anyone care to shed a light on the mysterious Allen?

It is strange, but maybe Rodger's didn't foresee us conceeding control of the game as alarmingly as we did after Coutinho went off. Allen would've been the right sub though, as you'd have to think he'd have kept the ball better than Aspas (I nearly fucking would've kept it better than him last night). He could've also helped Gerrard and Lucas get a foothold in midfield. He definitely would've been a better call than Aspas. I don't like judging people early and I think Aspas was decent against Stoke, but his performances have been pretty shocking. He needs to get stronger and tougher and learn to how fucking trap a ball.

And how the fuck did we score ours?

And in general a lot of goals come from mistakes somewhere on the pitch. There are very few indefensible goals.

Via mistakes, not that it has the slightest amount of relevance to my point, we should be furious that we gave away too pathetic goals, I thought that would have been kind of obvious. But no you're right, most goals come from mistakes on the pitch, and very few are indefensible, so we should just accept that we made two school boy errors to gift them points, as that's the way the percentages work themselves out.
