Oblak or death. Hopefully not death.
Just what I thought. That's a weird thing to say if you were adamant you weren't selling.

The type of player he is ... i would say like the argentinian Ortega or Juninho who played for Boro.Coutinho is a weird player to categorize sometimes party because he evolved but partly because he can be flexible positioin wise.
He can fulfil the classic winger role which he started off as when he joined us.
But later on he learned to drift and drop deep in-game to fulfill the midfield playmaker with maverick tendancies.
What I think we will miss most is his ability to get opposition defenders to receede 10 yards when he is running at them. I remember in his first season when defenders realised they needed a "don't dive in and get too close" policy to deal with Coutinho because he had a knack of wriggling out of tight spaces and make them look silly.
That ability to maintain close control in tight spaces is something I would love to regain in Coutinhos replacement player but it's not just close control and good skills, we also need someone with good intelligence too.
Coutinhos admittedly had excellent vision and knew how to "see ahead" of situations even at full flow. We don't need no Raheem Sterling type headlessnes (even though he has improved). I haven't seen much of Lemar but if he fits the bill of skill and team intelligence then I say go for him but I'm also liking Lyons Fekir too! An intelligent, hardworking, skillful maverick that's not too much to ask for is it?
Or perhaps he's referring to 'fringe' players. That's a weird thing to say if you were adamant you weren't selling.
They didn't turn down £90million in the summer. They turned down £90m in the summer why would they accept less? Unless the Arsenal structure was a bit like Barcas? £30m up front, £50m if they win the Eurovision song contest?
Thought they accepted Arsenals bid however Arsenal couldn't get the 60m they wanted for SanchezThey didn't turn down £90million in the summer.

Juninho was a far superior dribbler, which is why he won his shit team a trophy and Coutinho never did.
5..7m was not much as a few seasons prior the record was chris sutton for 5M.So you would have been comfortable spending 5-7M in 1999 (when 5-7M would have been "shed loads of money") on some player who had never been tested outside of Brazil, but now you don't feel comfortable paying shed loads of money from some player who has never been tested outside of France ... ?
Basically £60million, thats the price i'd be comfortable at, any more and i'm not sure.

As for players from Brazil back then...it was never a risk and we had all seen Juninho at that Umbro Cup hosted in UK. First time we saw Rob Carlos and a few others.
I hope we are after him too and put him in the middle.Arsenal seem to be after Malcolm instead
Does anyone actually believe we're signing Lemar ?
