The race

Yes but at the halfway point it would 8pts.

Thats not such a big lead that people should be celebrating already.
Ha. Sky has us at 2-11 to win it now. It would have to be a MAJOR collapse AND our opponents (meaning Arsenal) would have to somehow win umpteen games on the bounce (highly unlikely). If we are sensible and continue to play well (even with the occasional hiccup) we'll win it from here.

We need 16 wins (including beating Arsenal) to win the league. That’s assuming Arsenal win every other of their games which looks extremely unlikely.

Those are stupid odds. We haven’t had a decent wobble yet. Let’s get through that first and see where we are.

Today is the first step.

It's also pretty stupid to assume we will have a wobble! Or that, based on form, Arsenal, City and Chelsea won't have more! The odd poor result is inevitable but that's not a wobble.

If Arsenal win every game from now until end of the season then no complaints. They deserve to be champions.

On paper we have a tough last month. The key is to wrap up the league before that matters, which includes swatting aside and relegation fodder shite like Manchester United before then.

Usually the bottom half teams can be trickier in April/May so I wouldn't have it any other way.

Our lad's mate had been travelling with his gf all year and had ran out of money in Vietnam in may so was about to fly home, but last day of the season made a calculated guess of a bet of a fiver for four yellow cards across all matches at 1400/1 as there was fuck all to play for, and won seven grand and carried on to Japan. Said he went mad in this pub as his bet came in and bought the whole pub a bev but it was like 25 quid cos it was Vietnam.

Heart warming stuff. Let's hope it's all wrapped up early this season too.

Each time we have dropped points so have the chasing pack. While it is frustrating we are not stretching the lead when we have the opportunity, it must be worse for them repeatedly failing to make up any ground.

I'd quite like them to be humbled. I don't want them to have false hope. I want them dead. I want their families dead. I want their pets dead.

Well our next game could well be against second place, away from home with a chance to directly close the gap and get the double over us.

To be honest we need to take a good look at ourselves, the game in hand means nothing unless we get those points. These dropped points really hurt regardless of how much united may have been up for it. They are fucking 14th in the league, we should not be dropping points to them. What the fuck were we doing today ? What was that clueless performance. I do not think we get max points from next 2 games away to Forest and Brighton.

Honestly it’s going to serve as a very effective and cheap wake up call for players who might be thinking they can saunter for the next few months.

The next 2 PL games are going to define our title push. Away at Forest and Away at Brentford. Two attacking teams who will probably play like United did.

No room for passengers in either. I hope we get some good results and players rested in these cup games and get revenge on Forest.

They have a tricky FA cup tie against Luton and will probably go with a strong team which should be to our advantage.

Tricky tie against a team at the bottom of the championship?

I think its tricky as they aren't bad/low enough for Forest to rotate in their kids (I don't see Forest having a mega squad) and a cup where I think they could fancy a chance of a run at given their form.

I think there is a lot of entitlement going on here.
Utd were outstanding and the league positions prior to kick off mean fuck all in this fixture.
We have no god given right to win these kinds of games, it takes, either the other team not turning up, taking our chances and them missing theres.

Utd were as good as they could be, we missed some chances and they scored two great goals.

We had one really poor performance that arguably cost us the game but you can’t attack the whole team for that. It wasn’t a wake up call. It was just a side who have been consistently shit raising there level to our own level for the first time in months and getting a draw. On another day we could have lost or won. It’s football. I didn’t see us coasting along thinking it would be an easy 3 pts.

We were never going to be able to coast against these and that’s why those predictions of a hammering were so wide of the mark.

We allowed them to come on to our turf and play the game to their level. Another extremely slow start allowed them to gain confidence. We should’ve been right on them. Pushing and pressing the shit out of them. We didn’t. We were further let down by too many players not performing the basics.

At 2-1 it should’ve been game over but we allowed them back into it through the most lazy performance I have ever watched on that pitch.

I also think we let two players be too tentative because of the looming 5th yellow card (Gravy and Ibu). They both play in the same zone - which I wonder was also targeted for this reason. Yet another reason we should probably have deployed the Endo early. Not a great mix of scenarios.

Still - given the performance and tactical inflexibility I'd take a point.

Alright then. Have all us hysterical fannies calmed down yet, or are our quotes still being used in the equivalent "other formun meltdown watch"?.
Having watched the game and listened to the post match analysis and further twisting the knife into myself by watching Motd2, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Man Utd hammered us yesterday.
We were shocking, they elevated their game, we had a right back who should have been subbed at half time as anyone with half a head could see that he had gone. Obvious changes should have been made when we were 2-1 up. With Arsenals draw we have neither lost nor gained anything so let's move on eh?

They aren't bottom or close to it yet. If it's an away game then yes it could be a tricky tie. At home they should be able to rest players. I haven't checked to see if it's H or A. I'm that arsed.
2pts and places above the relegation zone, 5 off bottom. They are shite. Forest are at home.

Absolutely this. We’ve had a couple of blips and I hope Slot takes this into every game going. He’s spoken about the Forest game but yesterday was worse despite us getting a point. The title charge hasn’t changed. I still believe in Slot’s Quad Squad.
