The race

annoying to see jesus getting a few and perhaps coming to form, thought he’d be a bit weary around his birthday. martinelli also on the scoresheet. early signs looking like the other forwards could be stepping up in sakas absence annoyingly.

Relegation threatened teams can be harder to beat than 6-10th place in the second half of the season.

Keep winning and the amount of dropped points matters less.

The mental maths i keep doing is in the hypothetical situation that they beat us, that makes gap only 6, which is where one or two draws for us makes things v close.

However I think we are actually improving and the fixture pile up will take its toll on Arsenal who didn’t have CL to worry about last year and were fully rested for every PL game.

No no no. StevieM is never wrong and he said the idea we were both physically and mentally fucked last year in the second half of the season was total bollox.

Where exactly did I say that?

And where did I say I was ever wrong?

If I recall. I said the we lost the league, not because we were physically and mentally fucked, because key players that had been injured didn’t regain form after their injuries (Mo & Slobbers), that we missed a handful of chances that would have changed the season in specific moments (misses by Mo, Nunez [multiple times], Diaz & Trent and a horrible pass from Quansah).

We fucked up by losing in the Cup to Utd - that’s when we lost our belief that we could win everything and it shattered us.

I think Slit is managing the minutes of key personnel better than Klopp did - you can see it in the midfield and forward rotation.

Gakpo is a prime example - Klopp played him all over the forward line and in midfield so that he never really got into a rhythm - whereas he has Diaz and him sharing more of the load this year n the left.

Mac A has played less and him, Curtis & Slobbers have rotated well. Gravy is the one who’s played the most, but I feel like he’s also the one tasked with running the least and he also may be the fittest of our midfielders.

Mo’s just a machine and Virgil coasts through games expending as little effort as possible so he remains fit.

We’ve managed the minutes of our full backs as much as we could and our keeper rotation is well oiled.

Nunez and Jota have had their minutes managed.

Added to that, Quansah, Endo, Harvey and Cheesie (if he ever gets fit) have not featured greatly, so they should be fresh enough to play plenty of games in the second half of the season.

Consistency and rhythm is what wins us trophies this season.

The two weeks Macca had off with suspensions really helped him and he was back to his best against West Ham. Szobo has had a similar "rest" now and should be flying for the January fixtures.

True, but I feel like Arsenal has too much quality to be threatened by the bottom three this year.
Who would have guessed Everton would get the results they did or Ipswich the other night. Watford were muck when they ended our unbeaten season. Any team in this league can cause an upset. Southampton ran us close.

Well today couldn’t gave gone much better. Let’s deliver the goods.

Arteta rested Martinelli & Odegaard. Suggests he wants them fit for the EFL Semi, which is good if he’s already pivoting towards domestic cups
he was chatting the other day how Arsenal are one of the best teams but the best teams need titles

Weird he's decided that means the carabao cup like

Arsenal have to win 16 of the last 18 games to get to 88 points (which would most likely be enough to win the league this season).
Currently averaging 2 points per game. 20 g 40 p.

We need to win 14 of the last 20 games to get to 87.
We’re currently averaging 2,5 per game. 18 g 45 p.

The league could maybe be won in the lower 80s this season.

Just have to continue to win our games.

I was doing similar maths, 12 wins, 4 draws and 4 losses would put us on 85 points and should be enough to win the league. I think we'll do better than that.
I hope we win it early and couldn’t give a fuck if it was 78pts if it means we can try our best to win the CL too.

Win tomorrow and we are officially 8pts clear with everyone playing half their matches. Nowhere near done but a great platform to kick on from.

Big big game but we could easily lose tomorrow and suddenly it’s still only 5 points.
