...it's the fact that it wasn't necessary.

No creativity in central midfield, and no pace on the wings = lack of chances.

Our squad (when everyone's fit) is fine. Our players are very good, many of them. But when we set ourselves up negatively, we feel bad, and we can't create enough.

Benitez, in many respects, is an excellent manger. But his lack of balls cost him. He's not gutsy enough to be top class, instead preferring to hide behind a pretense of clever tactics, which ultimately turn out to be invalid

He's signed players like Reina, Torres, Mascherano and Agger - who I would like to keep in our first team. He won the CL. He's given us our best ever points return in the Premiership. When he gets it right, he can set up a defence that is completely inpenetrable.

He isn't without positive qualities.

But he consistently shoots himself in the foot with stupid decisions, because he's more interested in not losing than in winning. His "tactics" are negative, and over complicated.

It's this simple - create chances + score goals = win matches.

Draws don't win you fuck all. Wake up Rafa, and set us up to win.

i think the major difference was the performance of gerrard juxtaposed with rooney's.

i wanted purple and babel to start, though.
