The difference with that one being the ref 'saw' it and did something about it leaving the FA toothless to do any more about it. Yesterday, the ref saw nothing and Ibramovic didn't bring it to his attention swiftly. Added to the fact that it is Suarez and you can add that up to an 8 match ban.
Defoe got booked for it and so fa couldnt extend a ban.
A 5 game ban would probably be right but can see the FA doubling that
We better hope CHelsea don't ever have him.
Were those rules in force in 2007? I'm sure they only introduced the "ref saw it and acted so we can't do anything" rule in the last couple of yrs?
Might be wrong like
Why? Who is he?
It's a myth the FA can't intervene if the ref''s already acted. They choose not to unless it suits them to do so. As they've shown in the past, they can override these rules in 'exceptional circumstances'.
With Evra, the FA stunned us by handing out a disproportionately long ban. I think many of us expect 6-8 this time. I'm just hoping that they don't stun us again. I'll feel relieved on Wednesday if he's given 6. Not saying that he deserves that long a ban .... its just who he is ... and who they are. He'll sadly get at least 5-6 games.
