I feel for Arsenal fans losing Van Persie and maybe Song, but their loss is our gain. I don't think it's such a blind spot really, they're a good side regardless and will play good football and make average-on-paper players, play like stars. The idea of Rooney and RVP as a partnership, I'd imagine, would be a pretty mouthwatering prospect.

Assumption aplenty there, people have moaned about a lack of activity from us every time it's gone quiet. Now United have signed RVP it's suddenly their window shut and a baffling deal? Please.

It seems Mark that like me you have come the realisation that United - no matter who they have in that middle - will always challenge for the title. I have argued so much over the years about how our midfield has been better compared to theirs yet they still come out on top. I concluded many seasons ago that Fergie - despite being a CUNT is a fantastic manager who gets the best out of his players in nearly EVERY game. I think what RVP does is add that little creative spark in their final third which I though was a little lacking at times last season for them.
