The January transfer window rumours thread

I quite like Steven Fletcher and he would be a capable back up like, but surely we need to be looking in the TOP bracket for a striker not a 10m 10 a season big fish small pond?

Who's this luke de jong guy I keep reading about, is he any good? The name fills me with apathy but the last few forwards we signed from that league have been decent.

Soldado, thats who I hope we sign. Soldado is a good striker.
2008–2010 Getafe 60 (29)
2010– Valencia 50 (28)

games - goals^^

1 in 2 over the last few years, can't really argue with that, didn't realise he was 26 though
I think he also scored shitloads for Madrid at youth level but then spent years behind Raul and Ronaldo etc not getting a chance.
Honestly hes the business. Scores great goals and spawny goals proper striker.

Now im going to find any kind of link and stick to it like a dog with a bone.

Yea he looks a finisher, plus his name ends in a vowel definately more exciting than de jong.

The goal about 30 seconds into the first video was great, just goal scoring instinct. Really want a burger king now.

You can see why Soldado gets his goals. When the balls out wide hes always on the move trying to get across his man which is something Carroll and Torres seem to have forgotten how to do since January.

I think he's out of our reach. As is Cavani and all the other "proven" strikers that people want us to buy.

Sow from lille?
Chamakh from arsenal? He seems clinical...just needs games

N'gog. Bring him back!
From the little bit I have seen of Sow, he seem to be an awkward, technically limited striker.
I doubt if he will do much in the Premiership

Podolski has said he want to leave Germany and according to reports would command a transfer fee of about €20m

Ngog would command less of a fee
Nope, we need Mo'goals

I'm not sure about Podolski. His club career has been hit and miss. He wasn't great at Bayern.

He looks like he's joining Arsenal anyway.

Anyone who can do a decent stepover would be a good start really.
Id also like them to be able to run at pace AND pass the ball at the same time. Not recieve the ball run five yards, STOP, look up, pick a pass, stand and admire the pass.
See and we havnt won shit since he left.

I went on about this goal at the time and how fucking mind blowing it was. This to me is a perfect goal because it is simply unstoppable. I could watch this all day, and it is exactly the kind of goal i dream of seeing us score.
The Real players (after Ozil picks the ball up from Ramos challenge) touch the ball once each. They arent faster or more powerful than their Ajax counterparts, but the quickness of mind and the speed and accuracy of the passing make it undefendable.
We can do that. We need players with that quickness of thought. Who can run and pass and keep moving. Its breathtaking. I know some prefer amazing dribbles or worldy pieces of individual skill, but for me this is football at its finest.
