YAY!

Liverpool are pondering a January move for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Steven Fletcher

The only player i'd like from Rangers is Steven Davis...It might make sense with Lucas out injured for the season.

His stats are pretty good.

- 6 goals in last 10 matches.

- Since joining Wolves in June 2010, no player has scored more headed goals in the PL than Steven Fletcher (9)

- 137 - Steven Fletcher's minutes per goal since August 2010, compared to 114 mins/goal for Javier Hernandez. Prolific. (Before his goal vs. Man Utd on 10th Dec)

I like Steven Fletcher (and Steve Morison of Norwich) as the archetypal battering-ram forward BUT Andy Carroll is a better version of this type of player and we need to try and figure out a way to maximise his undoubted ability rather than sign another player of the ilk who would suffer the same fate as Andy has so far.

how the mighty have fallen.

Pesam is spot on, we need to figure out Andy Carroll, and all that's required in that regard is to tell him to stay around the box as much as possible and not fuck up our build up play

I agree, spending money on a striker in jan when we has a £35m wasting away on the bench seems hasty. better to at least 'attempt' to fix the striker we have.

Only Luis Suarez can be relied upon to put in a good performance from our forward line, and even he isn't a guaranteer of goals.

Even if Carroll magically became good we arguably still need another striker, so I see no reason why we shouldn't be looking to invest in one soon. The problem is, we can't afford to muck this one up, and there really isn't loads of options available at the moment.

"He's a Premier League player scoring goals so he's going to get headlines. Players always do when they're scoring goals," McCarthy told the Express & Star.

Asked if he felt Fletcher would be a transfer target, McCarthy said: "No. If I say yes then I've suddenly put him up for sale haven't I? So, categorically, no.

"All Fletcher can do is play and score, for his career here and his Scotland career.

"He's still only a young man, so all he can do is keep playing well and scoring. It's a great feeling as a footballer to be playing well.

"He's a very good player, he's excellent. It's his all-round game, but as with all strikers it's his goals that top his performances off.

"And he wants to score. He loves scoring."

Accrording to that Stephen Martin lad we are deffo in for a striker in january. Scott Sinclair is also being mentioned.

He's not bad, Fletcher, but wouldn't be worth the money we'd end up forking out for him.

Scott Sinclair? Great, another forward who doesn't score goals.

Sinclair said that he was going nowhere the other day.

Not that it makes a difference, just saying.

Also, isn't he more of a winger.
