I get why the ref shit out of making the decision though. And I suspect that is why the accusation was made in the first place. Which is fucking disgraceful.

I found it odd the way it was picked up on straight away by the Beeb pundits, "oh he's obviously said something to upset him there". Yeah, he probably called him a fucking nobhead, for pushing him into the crowd. How else would anyone expect a player to react to that sort of dangerous behaviour? Firmino isn't exactly renowned for being dirty, abusive or reactionary.

I wonder if the comment would have been picked up by the refs mic? Given they were in close proximity?

The bbc must have got something back from pitchside when the ref and 4th official had their chat. I also thought the discussion was weird unless they had more info.

Does anyone outside of the refereeing team get the headset audio? I'm nearly sure I heard a commentator suggest they did recently but in hindsight I think he might have been making a confusing comparison between football and rugby where he was actually talking about the latter.

Why is it always our players
- Arrested after a big win for beating someone (doesn't matter if male or female)
- Caught Drink Driving
- Accused of being racist
- Biting opponents

Delete as necessary.

I do firmly believe the club is labouring beneath some long-standing curse.

If the FA gives Bobby a ban for abusive language (not racist), I do hope we pick a fight for as far as you can possibly go.

You'd find evidence of Rooney screaming the same stuff in every game he's played, not only at other players but towards officials as well.

The kid has lost his shit, not because he misheard but because he heard a foreign language being shouted in his face. The provocation of his assault on Firm ad the crowd forgotten by all in the ensuing handbags. We need to teach all our foreign players how to blast off in common English abuse and instruct them never ever to let rip in their own language whatever happens on the pitch.I don't believe we are cursed,I believe we have perceived " previous".

Holgate will back track and say he misheard/misunderstood and the FA will say all is right with the world and close the case. He has no other option seeing as A. Maddeley was stood between them and didn't react to anything said. B. He's deleted his twitter and that would be brought up as evidence that those living in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. And C. Every single time the blueshite were televised, as soon as Rooney invariably swears at the referee / linesman, we could have a full on twitter campaign reporting it to the FA and have the Desperate Dan lookalike twat banned for the rest of his career.

Knowing the FA they'll probably hand out a ban to Firmino for leaving the pitch without the refs permission.

FA statement on Holgate/Firmino: The FA can confirm that referee Bobby Madley was made aware of an allegation during the Liverpool versus Everton game at Anfield last night and has subsequently reported this to The FA, which will now begin making enquiries into the matter.

Even my wife who has a basic understanding of Portuguese said straight away that Firminio said the 'puto' comment.

I think Holgate misheard AND let's not forget he had pushed Firminio into the stands he maybe lost his head thinking he was going to get a red card and maybe this was why he misheard?

Ultimately this was the referees fault, a push like that from behind is very dangerous!!! What if Firminio hand landed awkwardly and injured himself or worse? Should have been straight red and then this sorry mess wouldn't have happened.

Andre Gray was given a four match ban when someone pointed out five year old tweets that were deemed homophobic. As Holgate tweeted something similar he should get the same ban.
