Arsenal's main worry is that they only have one style of play. As was said on sky yesterday, many teams will lose at old trafford maybe one nil but utd will have had to work a lot harder and play a lot better than they did yesterday. This is because teams will come there and be compact and hard to break down. Not just try to go at united with a load of inexperienced players. It was absolute suicide by Wenger yesterday. They need a couple of signings and most importantly a Plan B, ie not tippy tappy all the time. Still have a decent squad and with a couple of signings could be there or thereabouts for top 4 if things don't keep going as well for us.
Of all the teams so far Man City have impressed me the most, especially yesterday. Nasri and Silva looked like they had played together for years and linked up beautifully along with Aguero and Dzecko. Dzecko also coming good and looking like the player he was in his 2nd season at Wolfsburg. That means 4 genuine goal threats in the front 4 positions, along with Toure who pitched in with his fair share last year. All this with a bench to die for. Maybe, maybe they will still be a centre half short but they are certainly massive challengers this year.
United have looked good, in their 2 home games (well, 2nd half against Spurs) and will most likely not drop very many points there again this year. Although again they struggled to beat West Brom away in the end after starting well. Only 1 shot on target in that game. If they drop as many points away from home as last year then the title could be Citys. I don't think Wellbeck is as good as people are making out but in Chicarito and Berbatov they have two other excellent choices to play alongside Rooney. It's been scary how easily Young has slotted in there, has been excellent. Same can be said of Phil jones and Smalling has realy impressed me at RB, made the position his own for the season in my book. Won't always get away with midfield of Anderson and Cleverly. Especially not in tough away games and when teams play 5 in midfield against them especially. Obviously will still be challenging come April unfortunately.
Chelsea have started slowly but have still got 2 wins and a draw. The key for them will be Mata, who looked like he slotted in unbelievably well in his 20 minutes on Saturday. Exactly what they have been missing imo. If they get modric too, which let's face it they probably will then they will without a doubt be up there challenging come April also. Modric and Mata could be the key to getting Torres back to form unfortunately. Starting slowly isn't a bad thing either, Mourinhos first season they didn't really start playing well for a while either.
Spurs. Meh, still haven't signed a much much needed striker, winger, centre mid(prob get scott parker though). Aaron Lennon is absolutely rubbish. Bale looks out of form and short of confidence. Modric will be sold. Redknapp proving how "tactically astute" he is by starting a midfield of bale modric kranjcar and lennon to provide protection against Nasri Silva Aguero and Dzecko. Wow. They will be lucky to be top 6 and may only do so because who else will get there, Villa? not judging by Saturday, Everton no funds? Hardly, Fulham, started terribly, Newcastle? Nah, Sunderland? So many new players again and a bad start too.
Liverpool for me have an unprecedented opportunity to get back into top 4. Through our own improvement and also the falling backwards of Arsenal and Spurs. And we never know, not having Europe this year, meaning that we can concentrate completely on Domestic competitions could be a massive blessing and maybe we can give it a real go and challenge for the title. Think it's possible but will be a big ask obviously with City's squad, Chelsea probably improving on last year and Uniteds know how and confidence to do it. We certainly have an outside chance though if all goes well and Luis stays injury free!
