Veron for me. I thought he would be an amazing buy for the scum. I just thought he was such a cultured and intelligent midfielder that he'd be hatefully stunning. Glad to say I was marginally incorrect.

Quaresma (I was against us signing him but I did think he'd do okay)
Morientes (Was NAILED on to bring us goals)
Luque (I was livid we weren't in for him)
Diouf (not sure this counts as he has been competent elsewhere)
Gomez (Thought he was a top goalkeeping signing.)
Jordi Cruyf

Yeah, was going to say the same. He's found his feet there and has generally been pretty useful for them when I've had the misfortune of watching Chelsea play.

I thought Baptista would be unstoppable in the Premiership and probably Kezman, too, although the later was based on very little knowledge.
I knew Shevchenko was past it by the time Chelsea signed him. AC selling him was amazing business.

Quaresma - would like to see him given a chance elsewhere though, he hardly got a look in at Chelsea. Still think he has it in him.
Morientes - he looked absolutely perfect (bar lack of pace but there have been plenty of good CFs lacking pace) for football in England.

Took his time though. And has never been as good for Chelsea as he was for Lyon. I wanted us to sign him at the time, and everyone lambasted me for this during his first, crap season in England. I thought he had the build and speed to adapt to the PL more quickly than he did.
