Swansea v Liverpool Match Thread

Our youngsters were given a chance today. None of them took it.
Lucas made a positive impact initially, and then that stupid mistake that led to their 3rd.
Skrtel was far from impressive.
In short, I don't think we'll see many of those youngsters playing for us again.

They're not awfully moany bastards, they're providing criticism in an awful moany way. They're allowed to do this, doncha know? No?

Sure. Some are just mongs though.
Like an old drunk homeless guy standing at a street corner shouting angrily at everyone.

A couple of years ago, my old car broke down at the traffic lights in the middle of Upper Parliament Street by the Rialto.

I was standing on the pavement trying to get the AA on my phone, when one of those old drunk homeless guys staggered towards me. "Oh God," I thought, "What's his game?"

"The signal isn't any good there," he said. "If you stand over there, it is OK." And he was right.

We've had some really dismal, embarrassing Premiership results this season; the two defeats by West Ham; conceding four goals in two games against Newcastle; conceding two goals at home in the last 10 minutes to Sunderland; drawing with West Brom; losing 3-2 to Southamlton after being 2-0 up; getting battered 3-0 by Watford; conceding 3 at home to Arsenal, and this is right up there with the very shittest performances of the season, and many of those horrible results have been against the worst teams in the entire league.

But it was obvious from the moment the team sheet was announced.

Embarrassing stuff. So many poor players. Swansea have bossed it easily. Shameful really

Still we have improved a bit since Klopp arrived. We're still seventh, just four points behind United, who play later.

Embarrassing team selection and performance. Another defeat that falls squarely on Klopps shoulders.

It's becoming clear to me thst teams are selected on their physical condition more so than their footballing ability. It feels like we have a fitness coach in charge on the squad.

Sturridge does a runner.
I reckon he only has another couple of games that he will play as a Liverpool player

Yeah, that wasnt very good. Lucas and Skrtek were horrendous.

Ah well, a nothing game. On to Thursday.

Yeah, although he keeps picking Firmino, who is the slowest striker in the Premiership, and Lucas who physically can't actually play football anymore.

Who should he have picked? Seeing as we have loads of injuries, got back from Spain on Friday and play the biggest game of the season in 5 days

And we've probably played the most games in Europe soon.
Not much perspective on here

so the league is over, it all rests on thursday night

best to forget this one and start the debate on who should play against Villareal

The most important thing here, I'm sure you'll all agree, is me. And specifically my bet. I've got two separate 100 quid bets with blue noses that we'll finish at least 10 points ahead of them. If we're just gonna pick shite for the last few games to try and win the Europa and I have to pay out to these two wankers who'll never shut up about it, then I'm going to have to compose a strongly worded tweet to Jurgen. And no mistake.

Sturridge walks off the pitch without acknowledging anyone. Great.

Shit result, young players looking like they have their confidence destroyed and our best player is completely alienated. I don't think many of Klopp's predecessors would have got away with this shit-fest.

You'll win that bet mate

Probably because Klopp hasn't yet wasted a load of cash on shit.

So Sturridge isnt happy when we've just lost? Think you're reading to much into this mate

What do you mean 'got away with it?'

You want him sacked? He's getting a fair amount of criticism, which is richly deserved. The players too. Only a total mong would absolve him of any blame, and I don't see much of that.

He needs longer to sign his own players and spend some money. If next year he's still playing the likes of Lucas, Stewart, Firmino, Toure, Mignolet, Allen, Sakho and all the other shit players, we still have one of the worst defensive records in the league, and are seventh or eighth again, well, then we can start talking about sacking him

A side capable of winning a football match. One of Lucas or Allen should have started. Countiho still looked sick. Sturrudge shouldn't have been on the pitch and saved for Thursday. We threw that game before a ball was kicked and it's disappointing. If he gets us through on Thursday then it will quickly be forgotten about, but such a lack of competitiveness goes against our nature and I feel for the supporters today who paid to go watch that shite.

Oh right, so until then he gets a reprieve for dishing up shite, and complete credit for every great performance.
I don't even know what to make of you any more

Defending Rodgers during his embarrassing European run and dismal performances, and then criticising klopp because he's resting players to actually try and get us a trophy winning opportunity

I just don't even

Its what happens when you rest/have injured 10 players though.
We have a pretty poor and unbalanced squad. Its nothing new and sometimes the managers hand is forced. Maybe he should have started a bit different but its hard to say to much negative when we have 2 fit CMs and 3 CBs.

Everyone wants to win every game but we're not getting 4th. Wheter or not we finish 5th-6th doesnt matter. I'd rather we give ourselves the best chance possible on Thursday.
