I can't pretend to know loads and loads about Danny Ings, but I bet you haven't watched an awful lot of him. People wouldn't have rated Jamie Vardy as worth 10 million 12 months ago. Also 10 million is fucking nothing these days in football. Unless we unearthed some gem in France or Holland we won't get better than him for 10 million.
This is good: a typically pointless thread about a non-story was in danger of breaking under the strain of reality, but this has saved it and moved it on. Now we can debate whether Ings, a player who wasn't bought to lead the line, should be sold for not being good enough to lead the line.
Ings won't come back to replace Benteke or Sturridge. He'll play either behind one of them or wide of one of them. He's at his best buzzing around the box, interchanging with the centre forward, creating space for him and backing him up.

It's also a bit premature to suggest Ings isn't good enough. You haven't got enough evidence one way or the other.
Bale, Gerrard, Rooney, Lampard, Terry, Ferdinand, Sturridge, Scholes, Beckham, Campbell, Owen, mcManaman...there's loads and loads of British players who have, or could, have played for top European sides.
