Suso vs the world

Update:

Suso had been been suffering from heat stroke, so that's why he didn't start the game.
Explains his poor start to the game. He looked a bit jaded.

Thank you all for the messages.
We are in our rooms ⚽
As for my health, hospital day pass yesterday but all is good.

I think a season on loan for a premier league club is what is needed for Suso.

Southampton, in my opinion being a perfect fit. Under Pochettino they are playing a high tempo, pressing and quick passing game. He would surely get a lot more game time there than with us this season also. Hopefully find out which position he is best suited to in the premier league too.

I must be in the minority on here, but I don't rate him at all.

I rate him, but I think people are going massively overboard, he's struggled big time when he's figured in the first team, aside from a couple of big performances, he's not really pulled up any trees. He clearly has alot of ability and potential, but it's early days yet and it's amazing how the same people continuously big him up into being something he might turn out to be, but can't acknowledge other players who have sweated blood for the side (Carra, Riise, Kuyt).

He's 19.

You're bigging up his potential with a resonance almost as annoying as KHL's latest fad Erikssen getting whored in every available mildly linked thread. You go to extremes, like I've said, if it's a young potentially exciting, skillful player, you're sold. If it's a club legend or good servant who's sweated his bollocks off in every backs-to-the-wall situation to get us through a game (and in many cases, silverware) you consider it a non footballing achievement not worth acknowledging. The contrast between your attitude to players like Carragher (or plenty of other UK based players) and someone like Dos fucking Santos is stark.

It's a bit like bigging up Downing for no reason whatsoever.

Comparing Suso with Carra, give me a break.
If you had your way we'd still have Spearing, Adam and Downing in midfield with Carroll playing upfront.

Course I would.

As opposed to saying anyone that isn't a skillful foreign player can't play football, which is pretty much your ethos. Sorry I'm exaggerating, but I may aswell join in after that last load of bollocks.

Its like the de niro pacino scene in heat. Suso has the greatest respect for carragher im sure, but if becessary he would not hesitate for a second if he had to put a bullett in him to further his own career at the club. Quite right too. Carra would have done the same to Staunton.

To be fair, Downing's contributed more to LFC than Suso.

A WAR stats for footballers would be immense to settle this sort of an argument.

For those of you that don't know, WAR is Wins Above Replacement, which is used in baseball circles to quantify the impact a player has on a team's success. It takes into account Offense, Defense, and Baserunning metrics compared to the league average(I believe). Would definitely need some major work to get done, but would be a fantastic way to compare the performance of a player like Downing to Suso in terms of value and progression.

Anyways, Downing sucks.

Wish the club had done that BEFORE we bought downing, would have saved us a lot of pain of seeing him in a liverpool shirt.

Agreed. I can't really see him ever cutting it at the top level. He looks decent enough at his age group but looks lost against the big boys.

Care to have a little wager? 🙂
In 2 years I bet Suso will be at least playing regularly in a top 10 side in one of the 4 top leagues in Europe.
I hope it's with us, but whatever. He's a big talent who's been the standout performer in his national age group which happens to be one of the strongest youth setup in the world.

So he could be playing regularly for West Ham or West Brom, Seville, Rayo Vallecano, Hanover or Nuremburg, or Catania or Parma? That I could just about believe. I don't believe he's good enough to be one of the players to help take us back into the top 4 and compete in the Champions League or for the title.
You're on.

Your bickering is uncalled for and to be honest much more annoying than having to read a posters excitement over one of our players.

Suso has got immense potential and I for one understand Modo's excitement and as this is the Suso thread, why do you feel the need to try and bring him down, using the old Carra argue as your piledriver?

So what's the bet? Top 5/6? That to me is top level.
HJC will be fine!
