I must be in the minority on here, but I don't rate him at all.
I rate him, but I think people are going massively overboard, he's struggled big time when he's figured in the first team, aside from a couple of big performances, he's not really pulled up any trees. He clearly has alot of ability and potential, but it's early days yet and it's amazing how the same people continuously big him up into being something he might turn out to be, but can't acknowledge other players who have sweated blood for the side (Carra, Riise, Kuyt).
He's 19.
You're bigging up his potential with an a resonance almost as annoying as KHL's latest fad Erikssen getting whored in every available mildly linked thread. You go to extremes, like I've said, if it's a young potentially exciting, skillful player, you're sold. If it's a club legend or good servant who's sweated his bollocks off in every backs-to-the-wall situation to get us through a game (and in many cases, silverware) you consider it a non footballing achievement not worth acknowledging. The contrast between your attitude to players like Carragher (or plenty of other UK based players) and someone like Dos fucking Santos is stark.
It's a bit like bigging up Downing for no reason whatsoever.
Comparing Suso with Carra, give me a break.
If you had your way we'd still have Spearing, Adam and Downing in midfield with Carroll playing upfront.

To be fair, Downing's contributed more to LFC than Suso.
bit of a silly comparision considering suso mainly plays in the reserves and is only 19. What exactly is your point? He has.
Wish the club had done that BEFORE we bought downing, would have saved us a lot of pain of seeing him in a liverpool shirt.A WAR stats for footballers would be immense to settle this sort of an argument.
For those of you that don't know, WAR is Wins Above Replacement, which is used in baseball circles to quantify the impact a player has on a team's success. It takes into account Offense, Defense, and Baserunning metrics compared to the league average(I believe). Would definitely need some major work to get done, but would be a fantastic way to compare the performance of a player like Downing to Suso in terms of value and progression.
Anyways, Downing sucks.

Care to have a little wager? 🙂Agreed. I can't really see him ever cutting it at the top level. He looks decent enough at his age group but looks lost against the big boys.

In 2 years I bet Suso will be at least playing regularly in a top 10 side in one of the 4 top leagues in Europe.
I hope it's with us, but whatever. He's a big talent who's been the standout performer in his national age group which happens to be one of the strongest youth setup in the world.

So what's the bet? Top 5/6? That to me is top level. So he could be playing regularly for West Ham or West Brom, Seville, Rayo Vallecano, Hanover or Nuremburg, or Catania or Parma? That I could just about believe. I don't believe he's good enough to be one of the players to help take us back into the top 4 and compete in the Champions League or for the title.
You're on.

So that's why Modo likes him.
