Summer rebuild 2023

I don't think it's a case of being an FSG apologist. We are only 2 weeks into the window. We have had journalists who are reputable say we are after more midfielders and a centre back. I don't have an issue with people who are more optimistic about things and more confident we'll sign the players we need to. But it just feels at the moment a bit like other summers of late; can't pay the bigger transfer fees, dithering about signing players; I half expect James Pearce to start saying Klopp is happy with what he has.

Klopp has already told us fans not to expect huge change, took a dig at Chelsea's spending and told us it will take time. I think for me the rumours have gone from going for players around the £30-45m to looking at £60-250m. No one believes it, had we stuck at that low level I would have been happy

This is it innit ? - the worst fears of a Liverpool fan under FSG ownership, we all know the playbook when it comes to transfers.

Joyce also said FSG would "significantly" back Klopp this window.......

Maybe his every word isn't to be taken as gospel as some wanna make out,.

I don't mind the idea, as long as he's not the only other mid we get.

I'd be happy if Barella/SzoboZo were our only other midfield signing.

Lavia might have potential but he's very raw, but what 19 year old doesn't......I dunno man a lot of them rarely go on to fulfill that potential & I don't think he's all
that to begin with. Much rather we stuck by and developed Baj.

So, let’s say:

Trent (possibly hybrid RB/DLP role)
Fabinho (DM)
Bajcetic (DM/LCM)
Mac Allister (everywhere)
Henderson (also everywhere, I guess)
Thuram (LCM)
Curtis Jones (LCM)
Szoboszlai (RCM/AM)
Elliott (RCM/AM)

(I still think Thiago will leave if we sign 3 new midfielders)

Is this good/deep/balanced enough?

Surely the simplest solution to solve our lack of midfielders is to do what we've done previously and not play Harvey and Elliot at the same time

Adam Mcadams on Sky Sports transfer round up claiming money is tight.
Well how could it not be lol, we spend what we can (with CL) which was 40-50m….what on earth we gonna do without it.

A homeless person isn’t suddenly mysteriously gonna wake up 1 morning with 500k in their bank account are they? They’re gonna stay homeless.

I expect us to announce next week we have pulled out of all currently inprogress summer transfer deals because we don’t want to disrupt our pre season plans on July the 8th…

And arsenal fans have complained about the kroenkes ... or manure fans about the glazers ...

We have never asked for similar amount of money as those lot, just relatively enough to sign basic minimum we need but really not sure FSG will back Klopp this year. Potentially, if Klopp had held out from signing the renewal last year and threatend to walk then I could have seen that play work but Klopp seems happy to plod along with what he has regardless.

I dont even know who that guy is, and I’d expect someone else to talk about it if it was true.
