Summer rebuild 2023

He absolutely can still play in our system - but he is noticeably not the player he was and I can’t imagine he’ll get better in a system such as ours.

I’m not saying time to go, but it is time to start considering that the end is coming.

He'll get better with an improved and more balanced midfield in front of him (and the rest of the defence).

But this is what some people were saying last summer about our midfield. I genuinely don't want to find ourselves putting fires out every year because of loyalty. No one is saying drop Virgil, but surely it's in our interests to get someone in to compete with him

Not much to report but my buddy sent me this today ^^^^^

He thinks he's funny (but admittedly I like his taste in tuneage) He said exactly this "If you were to pick between a Frenchmen or a Uruguayan who would you go with? Because there is some serious noise coming out of outlets regarding LFC about both right now"

I told him then to just fucking tell me or else I'll tell his missus where he keeps his secret donut stash... He's not replied yet.

I'm presuming he means Valverde though. Seems unlikely but there you have it.

Maybe it does make sense. We all know Madrid want Mbappe and were probably hoping to sign him on a free next season. Now he's up for sale this summer are they gonna let him slip through their fingers again? However they've already budgeted 90m for Jude. How are they going to afford another £180m? Someone's going to have to be sold

If they pull out of jude signing, he ends up ar city...

I’m not sure he does - he’ll want to play on the left, won’t he - where City are well stocked.

It’s the sort of stupid-ass move Barca would go for - or I could see Utd chucking cash at him.

If Velverde is for sale he will go to City or United - we were told we didn't need a Ferrari when the roof needed fixing, the roof still needs fixing.

If Mbappe will move, Real will need to shift someone.
But that we will be shopping from them is out of character, or rather, not our manner of spending.

Why? Transfer funds?

They’ve gotten rid of Benzema and Hazard recently, two huge earners so have room for one more surely.

Why the fuck have we not signed anyone ? Its funny innit, United get Qatar, and suddenly we are in for Valverde ?....I dont give a fuck about any of this shit, we all know better than fucking Klopp or FSG after seeing the team get bummed multiple times. They need to address these issues this summer not next or at Christmas. Fucking sign those 35M players and dont give us this Valverde PR bollox you fucking liars. We need another 2 mids, and a defender and the bar is not that high....press resistant with an ability to run, we dont even need goals from them as they wull end up as recycling merchants under Klopp. We played with 9 men for 2/3 of the season, as we all know Henderson and Fabinho were non existent in that midfield and TAA was looking like a spaced out individual. So the bar is very low to improve that midfield, none of this too many signings would take time to integrate bollox, whats so sophisticated about running around like a donkey ?

For a player of that quality I'm sure City would make an exception - dB is getting on too.

Lol. Here we go, another summer of liverpool putting in bids they know will get rejected. But at least we made the effort.
Doubt we've put in a bid tbh but it wouldn't surprise you either would it.

Real Madrid do have the cash to get Mbappe as their net spend is lower than us whilst their revenue is significantly higher

Reliable Liverpool reporter Neil Jones has emphatically addressed transfer rumours linking the Reds with Benjamin Pavard.
Christian Falk told CaughtOffside in recent days that Jurgen Klopp’s side are ‘a hot candidate’ for the defender, who has informed Bayern Munich of his wishes to move on from the Allianz Arena.
However, speaking to The Redmen TV‘s Journo Insight show, the GOAL journalist made it very clear that the Anfield club have no interest in moving for the France international.
Jones said: “I didn’t think it made sense when it first emerged from his point of view and from Liverpool’s point of view. If it was a free transfer or something like that, you’d say maybe there would be a little bit in there.
“Dismissing transfer stories – especially transfer stories that are sourced by good journalists and reliable journalists – is always a dangerous thing, but Liverpool have dismissed it. Liverpool have said that it’s not true, we’re not in for him, we’re not after him, he’s not a target.
“Liverpool club sources dismiss a lot of players that are linked with Liverpool because a lot of players are linked within Liverpool. It’s very rare, in fact, I can’t think of anyone that they’ve ever done it in those explicit terms of: ‘Look, it’s not happening.’
“Sometimes you might get the wishy-washy dismissal of ‘not really much going on there’ or ‘not at this moment in time’. It wasn’t that. It was: ‘We don’t want this player.’
“I don’t expect him to be a Liverpool player this summer. Whoever I’ve been speaking to Liverpool doesn’t either. It will be interesting to see where he does end up, but I don’t think it’ll be Anfield.”

Pavard would be nice for the fee being quoted, but has caughtoffside ever got anything right? For me they're the worst of the worst in this country.

So… we’re clearly in for him!!!

Your post is identical to mine @StevieM just doesn't find Neil Jones a credible source of information
I don't think anyone finds anyone as a reliable source of information other than maybe Joyce & Ruddock.

I kinda feel sorry for any reporter/Journo out there breaking news or alleged rumours they seem fit to report on the club because they're more or less ridiculed and vilified from the off, & then that piece of news is used against them for the rest of their life and beyond.

Is Klopp praying?

According to reports from Spain, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is believed to have Federico Valverde in his sights at Anfield, but the Real Madrid midfielder certainly won’t come cheap.
El Nacional have claimed that the Uruguayan could be jettisoned by the LaLiga giants, amid the imminent arrival of Jude Bellingham and a loss of form since returning from the World Cup.
The Reds are already believed to have told Los Blancos that they’d be interested in signing the 24-year-old for an initial €60m (£51.5m), while also communicating a willingness to bid €80m (£68.7m) up front plus €20m (£17.2m) in add-ons.
However, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has insisted that the 14-time champions of Europe won’t entertain any offers of less than €100m (£85.9m) straight.

The only Twitter source I find reliable is the Official one when they’re posting a picture of someone signing a contract while wearing a Liverpool scarf…

I suppose these days it would have to have a “signing day” video compilation attached.

Everything else is bollocks designed to troll Bluebell & Moron.
