Thanks Oncy for answering for me while I was away! 😉

Yup, we must not show adulation to nor idolize any players until they are retired with the club. Our support is for the Club, but that depends on the owners! We fans are just er fan, customers, valued clients.

So as long as any players can win us the title, we will tolerate them! Even Tevez if he comes. However as I say, there is no chance in hell that will ever happen!

I really think it's a shame that fans have become consumers and players have become resources/commodities. I say that because it takes away some of the passion for the game. Sad state of affairs really and change is needed. How and what I don't quite know

Well reality sucks! If we want to remain romantic, we have to wait for a long time to win the big one everyone of us desperately want. Unless miracle of miracles, we actually get a great team without great egos with a great manager plus great owners who are in sync with great fans!

Dream on!

True Y1 but then if and when you do achieve the league again what is it that gives the most satisfaction ? Winning with a team and club who give a fuck or one that sells it soul just to put a tick in the box? I would love football to be a sport again (or at least resemble one) not a business. I want to follow my team with a passion so that when the glory days come it means so much more. I want to see fans get behind their team and not slag players off at the drop of a hat. I want players to have respect for those fans and the shirt they play for. I know that's pretty much wishful thinking currently but football has become a sterile money making business where the fattest wallet wins and fickle fans are everywhere. And we seem to be accepting of that and, some of us, quite willing to throw the history, morals and foundation of this club away as long as we win. If that's all that matters. I can't subscribe to that because that's shite. I want us to win desperately - first and foremost. To do it with some dignity and honour would mean so much more. I wouldn't say that's romantic. Highly unrealistic yes. Retaining some fucking pride. Yes. Infinitely more pleasing that buying success ? Oh yes

Don't get me wrong of course I'd like some success but to say it doesn't matter what type of player plays for us doesn't feel right. Saying we should no longer adulate players in a red shirt feels wrong also. I'm with JJ. Most players are mercenary fuckers I agree but you can't tar them all with that brush otherwise football is fundamentally fucked. I'd like to think it's not. Yes, I will dream on as well. I'll dream football perhaps one day returns to the sport it should be. To serve the fans who follow the game and not the line the pockets of players and power brokers. I'll dream we win top honours again, honorably. Winning is not a right nor a guarantee for any club though and it's become much tougher because the overnight "superclubs" springing up. And as much as football and everything that surrounds it as made it into the media sideshow full of rich, greedy arrogant cunts and impossibly fickle football fans I simply cannot stop investing emotion in the club I love and the players who play for it. If you don't have a hopes and dreams then why the fuck follow a football team in the first place?

Well said Sunny. I think following the second division or non leaque football might bring back the romance. The premier league etc has become a money making machine I am afraid! It is sad but true. Do I want to see Liverpool win again. Yes! Do I want LFC to win at all cost even to the extend of having mercenaries? Yes, why not? Of course it is better without the latter. Of course the victory will be much sweeter. But realistically it is impossible. That is realism. But then we are all romantics being LFC fans.

I always ask myself this question mate. Two answers, I can only choose one (and no combinations of the two 🙂). What's more important to me - winning or Liverpool Football Club ?

I couldn't follow any other team, ever. And nothing is impossible. As Ross has pointed out - we won in Istanbul with Traore in defence. Anything is thus possible !

Yes that will come once a decade or two.

Can we live with that, with the mancs deriding us? It is painful. So painful.

Who gives a shit what those bandwaggoning bellends think ? Man up, man !! 🙂

Breathes in. Puffs up chest. Stiffles the tears. Put on stiff upper lips.

Yeah we will face the world like a man. Real man. 😉

"Very happy for the match! It's exciting to win a classic, and I'm very happy for all my friends who were great!! YNWA🙂"

Nice to see him doing an interview on Sky after. His English is coming on nicely.

Good man Luis.

Really hits home about Tevez's inability to learn English.

Well done, Luis.

He's doing fucking well considering how long he's been here.

Those ears are freaky though, never noticed that before.

Suarez is just a class act.

He's a robust little fucker too. Many times you see defenders bounce off him. Great lower body strength.

At times i feel he's a little careless in possession, for example in the final minute, he had an easy ball to put Henderson through on goal but hit it straight at the defender. Hendo probably would have missed anyway tho

Still we can't complain too much. He has an impact in every single one of our games. Joy to watch.

I can't help but wonder how he and Torres would have worked.
Still I don't like the fact that he's basically behind anything dangerous we create.
We need more players with flair.

Clinical finish then? I thought so.

Utterly fucking awful goalkeeping is what it was.

Did anyone see MOTD2? Suarez getting the hump because Adam moved the ball he was lining up to kick. In fairness to Adam there was a sprinkler in the way.

Nah, didn't see it.

I did see Adam's fucking brutal free-kick from the edge of the box in the first half though. I've seen ivy get over walls easier.

Yep, it's boss, he's proper stroppy & has a real will to win EVERYTHING, & if he doesn't he kicks off.

Unfortunately it's that will to win that may well see him go, but until then I'll enjoy every minute.
