On Saturday night, Match of the Day showed replays of the Suarez-Evra ‘handshake’ three times once their main highlights package of the action was over. They never once referred back to the goals.

Liverpool may ask themselves why that was.

Errrrrrrr......cos pricks like you like making mountains out of molehills you fucking cretin.

Africa Cup of Nations: Zambia win dramatic shoot-out
By Alistair Magowan BBC Sport

And in winning the shoot-out, they showed a steely determination to beat their supposedly more illustrious opponents with a performance that was built on an indefatigable spirit.

I suspect Alistair was also listening to Galloway today, recalled the same speech that you did, and then sub-consciously ended up using the same word.

OHhhh ....now it's getting really freaky , this is from some gimp called Ian Herbert in the Indo . They're fucking with your mind Dantes !!

Dalglish's post-match interview with Sky's indefatigable Geoff Shreeves on Saturday revealed a man out of his depth.

I'm sure Ferguson will issue a follow-up apology in due course.
[/quote]

Man U have issued an akcnowledge for the apology made by Liverpool.

This is a farse. I have no doubts where all this started. It started a year ago when Luis Suarez humiliated Sir Alex and his team in the worst possible way. You dont humiliate Sir Alex. Looka t Atkinson and other refs who has humilated him by not awarding them a dubious penalty? Luis humilation was of a sort where next time they played Sir Alex didn't know what to team to put out. he reshuffeled the team to cope with Luis and left Rooney et al on the bench. He openend the post match interview by attacking Suarez for diving. And when he was handed a hand by a bewildered Evra he grabbed it with both hands. Luis was a danger to him, and you dont cross Sir Alex. Noone does, not even Beckham survive that. And I am amused by the Man u fans that, like newly recruited alterboys fall for the charismatic catholic priests words "It is the right thing to do". But to see the amount of alterboys we have at our fanbase is more surprising. There is quite a lot of people who has aloowed themselves to be taken up the backside from these priest, and the one who saw unjustise been done and stood up for what he believed in has now rightfully been put in to place now!?! Bugger of.

It's as if the media think racism started and ended with Luiz Suarez, common target and their pursuit of him regardless whether you believe he's guilty or not is everything that is wrong with the media here.
I hope Suarez stays at Anfield this season, Club have showed a huge amount of support to him and he needs to stay and show us with his football, even if it's for a 7th placed side. If he goes then it would be all for nothing. He will play united again next season, he can run away to Spain or Italy or he can stay and reforge his love with LFC.

We have to sell Suarez asap.
What he did was simply not the Liverpool way. He s damaging our reputation.

Having said that, Kenny should not have started him in that game.
Kenny got it all wrong on saturday. Picking Downing instead of Bellamy was criminal

To stand up for what you believe in isn't the Liverpool way?

Your two posts prove that the term the 'Liverpool way' is a useless cliche, used to justify whatever you want.

It's a worthless phrase on football forums.

Sorry but I still believe in this cliche.
Turned the TV on and first thing I see is the Standard Chartered statement.
Not good at all.

He damaged us on both reputation and business levels.

You and anyone else who takes the same view are playing into the hands of people who want this club to fall further behind.

The Liverpool Way is winning trophies. You can't do that by selling your best fucking player because he's been stitched up like a kipper.

I couldn't be more critical of comments like this. It an irrational attempt to justify our ill-advised responses as perfectly legitimate responses to an undefined conspiracy and absolve the club of its incompetence throughout this sorry saga.

Let's get a few things clear. I believed Suarez was probably telling the truth in the original incident with Evra. But I believed that the club's statement in the wake of the decision was horrendously timed. Why? Because as it turned out, the written judgment was legally sound as an inevitable result of Suarez's lawyers (including the club lawyer) botching his defence. Suarez's decision NOT to appeal only reinforced the absurdity of such strongly worded criticism without the benefit of reading the written judgment. If Suarez (and the club) felt that he had been denied justice, well, the proper course was to take it to the courts. You harp on about refusing to submit on principle, but evidently Suarez wasn't principled enough to see through an appeal to the very highest courts in the land. He hasn't even been principled enough to initiate defamatory suits against the UK media. If we were simply acting on principle, then I expect much more than unsubstantiated snippets through the club to the media.

And then the handshake. A classic example of making a mountain out of a molehill by the press. I had no problem with Suarez not shaking hands with Evra, I wouldn't have done so myself. But again, I thought Kenny should have avoided making comment until he saw the footage of the incident - like it or not it was always going to be a talking point. Better yet, avoid making comment altogether - and eliminate the story. Why proffer a single tidbit to the very same people culpable for the demonisation of your player?

So what was the rationale behind our continued defence of Suarez to the media? Winning it in the forum of public opinion? We never ever stood a chance, that much was clear from the beginning. From condescending old farts like Gordon Taylor (I actually consider his repeated comments a throwback to imperialist sentiment) to dimwits like Oliver Holt, all roundly condemned Suarez and it would have taken a a miracle for them to back down on their collective stance.

So not only have we lost the disciplinary inquiry, we lost the capacity to assert our innocence via an appeal, we lost our best player for eight games by not appealing, we lost the media game, we lost our focus, we lost a game against our most hated rivals, we lost several opportunities to consolidate our claim for fourth, but we've also lost so much dignity as a club because we had to publicly acknowledge that our star player lied to his manager. If it is indeed true that people want our club to fall further behind, well, it seems our club is doing its best to make those wishes come true. There's been no discernible strategy, no clear statement of principle, is it any surprise that the hyenas have descended into such a huge fucking mess?

I was going to comment about (and disagree with) your first sentence but I actually agree with you. We've made a fine example of how to bend over and take it where The Lying Rag don't shine. I actually believe Luis is innocent in all this and we've played it badly with every step afterwards. Fergie is known to take every advantage possible and we've let him in this situation from hysterically agreeing that Luis is a disgrace for not shaking Evras hand (for f*cks sakes, really???) and agreeing that the whiskey nosed c*nt is right. Sorry but we should have kept quiet, said Luis is not a racist, kept to our story and left it at that.

Concentrate on the 2 cups, getting as high up the league as possible should be the only thing coming from our press statements.

I truly hope that this incident will turn our indignation, anger and sense of injustice into a good run on the field.

Suarez misled the club over the handshake. Now the club is wondering if he misled them about the initial incident. A few of us fans are too.

Hard times.

Is this true or just a guess?

It's common sense but call it a guess. The club believed Suarez last October. Didn't think he was lying. Most people here thought the same.

Now we know for a fact that Suarez is capable of lying to Kenny and the club, EVEN AFTER they defended him for months!

What do you think is going through their minds now?

No way Gene! It's not like Suarez has a history of cheating, getting suspended, on-field incidents, and general bullshit is it?

Look, he may have changed his mind on this occasion, but without knowing a fucking thing about him, I'll defend his right to insult someone including making references to their race tooth and nail. There are no greater injustices in the world for me to turn my attention to.

Similarly, I'm glad the FA has decided to root out racism, by punishing what a player said on the pitch so sternly. I think the ritualistic reinforcment of the taboo of racist speach by trotting out a minor or major celebrity every couple months, and publicly flogging them is a fantastic thing, and not at all simply an exorcism of the thorniness of the real issue, or an exercise in white guilt. After all, society isn't aware that horrific overt racism is wrong by now, and in modern times, the most pernicious forms of racism are overt and spoken, rather than institutionalized, shadowy, and unspoken. This whole performance really deals with the institutional racism that effects people's lives, that must be why the FA and football in general is so multicultural in the make up of its management and the staffing of its organizing bodies.

The real value in this whole thing is I get to read what a bunch of fucking idiots who have yet to express anything illuminating about football -- the only activity they've been involved in their whole lives -- have to say about something as fascinating as race theory.

The most prejudiced thing this club has done all year isn't getting any attention, I refer of course to the rampant xenophobia we showed in the transfer market, where we bought a whole bunch of homegrown cabbages for some unknown reason. The suarez thing is just the typical sort of mismanagement I've come to expect. If the owners don't shake things up in a whole bunch of different ways this summer, I'll be disappointed.

Since Evra and Fergie decided to play the racecard he has been dead quite in his fight for racism. It is not like there haven't been cases to comment on, but all in all Evra is not very occupied with this issue. If he were he would definately supported Ferdinand and could easily have voiced his condemnation against FAs favourable treatment of JT. But only if rasicm was an important enough issue to make any fuzz about.

The two incidents are way apart though. Would you shake his hand if you felt he'd lied, gotten you suspended and damaged your name? Of course you wouldnt.
