Suarez apologises

I think it's too soon to say whether this will effect his longterm future. It's time for a reaction on the pitch, we need to keep our nerve and let the football do the talking, and a few players need to roll their sleeves up and give more than they've offered so far, in support of Suarez as a team mate and even more importantly, in support of Dalglish and the club.

There's a few months ahead and then the Euro's, that's enough time to let the dust settle, providing he doesn't fall into the trap again when he's obviously going to be scrutinised at every opportunity.

I have to say aswell, fair play to the ref yesterday for not getting caught up in any of what's gone on, he refereed fairly and gave Suarez a fair amount of protection during the game.

I do think the apologies have been over-done. It would have sufficed for Suarez to apologise for breaking his word to the management. It would also have been better if his apology read more like that of a Uruguayan footballer and less like a hack solicitor. 🙂

Cue pics of Olie Holt and Co holding up posters saying 'We Win!' Go Reds Brand! An absolutely pathetic collapse. You've maybe - just maybe - saved your reputation with fans of other clubs, but you've diminished it with your own fans. What a great achievement.

The reputation of the club is meaningless to me. There is the truth about what happened and only Suarez and perhaps his manager and teamates cared about that. Everyone else from day one has tried to manipulate events to their own benifit. Now it's backfired on some of them, I struggle to care. Serves them right for (a) wishing to be deceptive cunts, and (b) failing to even pull that off because they lacked the necessary intelligence

This. I amazed that some of our fans are finally happy that we've rolled over and become that which the agenda driven media have so long wished for. We've been bent over and rammed up the arse by a well manipulated Man Utd stitch up. I never thought I'd see the day we would become that. Man U, the media, the FA and every other Fergie fawning cunt are kidding themselves if they think this is the end of things.

Best way to shut them up? Fucking win ... Win the two cups we're still in ... Hope Shitty win the League and Europa league ... and fucking buy well, and win the league next year. That will be the best way to fucking shut up the regular Liverpool haters (maybe some of our fans would even be happy in the process)

Bang on Wiz, let's just get on with winning.

Good post Mark. I dont think anything is decided yet either. I dont think yesterday automatically means FSG will move him on.
Hopefully all this will only make us stronger

Luis is gone and Kenny may follow him. Mission accomplished by Fergie me thinks. To show how truly sorry we are, why don't we let Ferguson select our new manager. He might as well pick the team as well as he has been instrumental in making sure Suarez has no long term future with us.

Lets get on with winning ? How do you think we'll achieve that with top quality players like Suarez ? Where do we think we will be at the end of the season should Suarez and Kenny go. We'll have to start rebuilding all over again. So many fans may get what they wish for but if they think it will have a positive impact they are wrong. Still, maybe everyone else will like us then. We should bring Hodgson back as well. He was quite a popular fellow outside the club too.

We've been royally shafted by Ferguson and his pals in the FA and media.

Yeah, easy to say, but they own the club and will do what they think is best for their long term interests.
I wouldn't be so sure of that Gerry.
What do you mean Sunny?

Why does so many think its a given he'll be gone? He's on his last chance I guess, but a transfer is a bit ott.

I meant between now and the end of the season, let's just get on with things. I'm as unhappy about this as anyone Sunny and I don't want Suarez to go, which is why I'd rather see us focusing on putting out our best eleven every week, winning as many games as we can, winning the League Cup, going for the FA Cup and being safe in the knowledge that we're not going to get any help from anywhere else. The best way to respond is by keeping our heads down and letting our football speak for itself. Fuck the FA, fuck the media and fuck United. They'll get their comeuppance. Karma and all that shit.

I mean their long terms interests, which may not be exactly the clubs long term interests. If that's what you're getting at.

amen to your last post Mark. Fuck them all. I'd close the gates to them all. You see us only when we allow you too.

I suspect you're right. This is all shit.
The club has made a mess of this whole thing from start to finish.
I'm not sure I would have wanted the club to handle it differently. I wouldn't have been happy with anything that fell short of absolute support of the player.
Are you sure? If you want to play it tough, you have to be ready for that. We let Kuyt and Comolli fuck up Suarez's version of story. We hired a solicitor and his opponent was QC. We never challenged the set up of the panel. Once objective test (no intention needed and Suarez admitted used the word "nergo&quot😉 was decided to be applied, we should know all along Suarez will be found guilty. But we decided to react combatively after the verdict and only accepted the ban days after the judgement. And so much more......... I don't know how many times we have misjudged the situations. It really feel like an amateur playing a professional game. I think someone should get fired over this incident.

We could have supported him, but handled it differently.

As has been said before, if we came out at the very beginning, apologised for any misunderstanding, said no offence was meant, etc. this would have been over before it started. There's been many chances to put an end to this, and today is the first time we've actually taken one of them.

If someone should have got fired it would have been Ian Ayre... and oh, there's a fucking surprise he made Suarez and Dalglish look like idiots in order to keep himself clean as a whistle
I pretty sure he'll want to go now regardless whether the club want shut.
Why though? He brought this last incident on himself. I'll be livid if he actually leaves now. Such a waste.

I think if it was any other club it had happened against, we may have handled it differently, but there's been a growing level of frustration in recent seasons over United and how much they get away with and their unhealthy influence in the game (particularly Fergie's), as Rafa had highlighted a couple of seasons back, so maybe that's why we went on the defensive from the off, protecting our own first and foremost. Not saying it's right, but we were right not to bend over backwards for them.

If suarez and dalglish go, coupled with Gerrard getting older we'll probably become a top-half of the table team. The fans will get pissed off. Reina, Agger and Skrtel would not hang around for long. The fans will then go nuts and force the owners out.

Ian Ayre will be squeeling like a little girl "Not me! Not me! I'm not a racist, leave me alone, not me!", before getting upper cutted and laid out on the floor to be buried underfoot by a violent mob of pissed off bloodthirsty fans.

I'm afraid this strikes me as true. Ayre has done a great job commercially but he's been a disaster in this area.

But ... but ... we'll be a team of nice guys, and everyone will love us ... and most important, we'll be respected like we were with dear Roy

Exactly, instead what we should continue do is release press statements full of rabble rousing lies and quite stupidly make ourselves look like defenders of racism all around the world.

It's about time the owners stepped in to clean up the mess the club has made of this entire issue.
