Stoke Semi Final Second Leg Match Thread

Every single time I watch him I think of him as an excited Labrador puppy, legging it round jumping at people & pushing the ball around.

He's very good in many ways but he's completely headless. If he can learn where & when to run he could be an excellent midfielder.

His concentration at times is problematic. But at other times he looks like a force of nature. Like there!!

Mediocre game so far; I guess we're trying to lull them to sleep – hope we don't lull ourselves to sleep! Firmino with some great touches again, Lucas decent, Hendo trying to stay very disciplined and not venture too far from Lucas.

Great effort from Can!

Tbh, I think it's they who are trying to lull us to sleep, slow the game down, hit us on the break / from a set piece, use Shaqiri as an impact sub later in the game.

Can a little more trigger happy than usual, instruction from Klopp perhaps?

Lucas has attempted more ambitious passes (with great results) in recent games. Wondering if that is something to do with Klopp.

Lallana has been the last few games too.

I suspect he's told them all to have a dig more often, Rodgers had them drilled to keep possession at all cost & it led to severe cases of players never shooting, so I imagine it's to counter that hangover.

Yep. Their gameplan is working wrote well for them so far. They've succeeded in stopping us playing for the most part.

We're full of running, but lacking in quality. Milner just doesn't have the technique to play in an attacking position, Hendo far from his best (not sure if his heel is still bothering him), Lallana quiet. Firmino doesn't have a single partner who can do anything with the ball.

Stoke are practically begging us to score with some of these loose passes and we can't even get into their box. Awful stuff this.

Firmino has done nowt.
He needs more space ahead of him to play. We've not opened them up enough to let him do anything.

Unfortunate he's not the type of player to create chances constantly.

It's no coincidence he's best performances have been against sides that open up against us.

It is so.

We have generated some great opportunities after forcing Stoke to lose possession.

Then we've had absolutely no clue what to do with them.

Very unlucky there, two unfortunate bounces that caught players off guard (though Firmino could probably have done better).
