Sterling to Tell Rodgers he wants to leave this summer

For me, players like Sterling epitomize everything that is wrong about modern football. Lying, money grabbing, self-promoting, spoilt brats with no loyalty or honour.

He may have heaps of talent but I'd rather he fucks off out of our club.

Amen mother fucker!

If we get a good deal I want this guy gone. He wouldn't have got anywhere near the same amount of games and exposure with another top side, and he has a lot to thank us for – which makes his public whoring all the more galling. His agitation in the past few months has undoubtedly had a negative impact on our close to the season. Let him go where he wants, I really don't think it matters. I don't think his attitude will allow him to fulfil his undoubtedly huge potential. Lets get the money and buy a fucking brilliant striker.

If I had a sense that we were going to bring in good enough players then I'd have no qualms about selling him, because he doesn't want to be at the club. The trouble is I'm not convinced we'll bring in good enough players.

This is the overriding feeling I get from this, there's a thin line between ambition and arrogance, and I think he's treading the wrong side of it and it's ultimately going to hurt his growth as a footballer. I don't, for example, see him having the same drive, passion, and commitment to improving himself as someone like Ronaldo does, and you need that to truly be one of the best.

Out of interest, why not?

His attitude the last few months since this contract talk has been awful, and he was clearly sulking when he played a few games at RWB earlier on in the season, it's like he feels he's too good for this Liverpool side, or to play RWB, and as a result he's not going to give his all and ride it out until he gets the move he deserves; that's the fine line between ambition and arrogance I was referring to.

Fair enough if he thinks that, that part isn't the problem, but you don't sulk around on the pitch when that's the case, you still stay 100% committed to being the best you can be for yourself, just like Suarez did, who then went on to have the best season of his life and join one of the best teams in the world.

He's only 20 and these little things are already distracting him, causing him to sulk and not give his all, and personally I don't think that bodes well for his future at all. He's got a huge amount of potential, but he's got to realise that, he's the one who's got to keep giving 100% to make it happen, just like the Ronaldo's, Suarez's of this world do, and personally I think the early signs are clear that he doesn't have that mentality, and it's going to stop him from being one of the best.

I posted recently in another thread that I used to go for 7/10s rather than 10/10s because it's less hassle.

I've just realised that Liverpool FC are jacking my style.

Does make you sick that a 20 year old is holding the club to Ransom..
But he is a Southern Boy.. and is probably trying to get a move back to his homeland..

Still... he is a cunt..

I think it would be foolish of us to cast him aside and sell him to a direct top 4 rival. (I can't see him wanting a move abroad). We need to hold on to our young players who have potential to be the best in the league. He's being a little shit but doesn't mean we should hand him over to Man City or Chelsea for say 30 million. I think we would struggle to buy a player of his current ability and future potential for that money.

I think people are forgetting how good he is. He has been off form since all this drama started but he was carrying us up to Christmas. At one stage for us he was ranked #1 for goals, assists, efforts on goals, etc. There was a huge amount of pressure on him this season with Suarez gone and Sturridge out. We all thought he was the bee's knees last season. I remember him scoring the opening goals in our Man City and Norwich wins in the title run in and the thought of him going to a rival was unthinkable. Twelve months later and we have people claiming we don't need him and Ibe is better etc.

I want him to stay. Can we not put down this shit stirring to immaturity and have a stern word with agent and player? I'd love to see a season of a combination of Sterling, Coutinho, Lallana and Ibe behind some decent strikers.

Wouldn't it be nice if some of these players actually, you know, tried their hardest to get us into the CL, instead of being one of the main reasons we fail to do so then thinking it's their right to fuck off somewhere where their players have put the effort in to get into the CL.
If he goes he's even more of a little fucking weasel than I first suspected.

He was our best scorer and assist provider because of how bad we have been and he has played more than anyone else and never seems to be dragged off when he's stinking the place out. He's had a purple patch the end of last season and the start of this season. Apart from that he's been dreadful.

I don't believe the hype. He's not interested in the club. I'm not interested in what him or his agent says. Just get rid.

His strategy seems to be working: stink up the place so badly that no-one wants you around and you can leave saying you were never really wanted. Classic tactic.

Yeah he was 'best scorer and assist provider'. So shouldn't we try hold on to him? He played so many minute because we didn't have anyone else who might be able to beat a player and make something positive happen. He was carrying us up until Christmas. He went to shite as soon as the contract stuff surfaced but lets not forget how much talent he has.

I agree, of course I wish all our players would try their hardest at all times but let's not sell one our best players to a so called rival.

If Citeh offer over £40 million we should bite their hands off. Sadly, we'd spend that £40 million on two completely shit £20 million players.

Ideally I would like to keep the Sterling we had prior to all these contract shenanigans. We should be trying to hold on to our better players, not selling them.

What worries me is that we persuade him to give us another season, and he continues to behave like a shit, and have the effect of a rotten apple in a barrel.
