Sterling to Tell Rodgers he wants to leave this summer

Cloggy: players too (Ward-Prowse, Loftus-Cheek etc.), if it comes to that.

Regardless of who's actually pulling the strings, that bloated thundercnut Ward has taken a big gamble with this Sterling business and is clearly getting rattled because the game as a whole (this goes well beyond people directly connected with LFC) is giving it, and him, a big thumbs-down.

“Carragher is a knob. Everybody knows it."

Haha, classy retort from Aidy Ward there. He's backed Sterling into a corner now where leaving will be the only option I'd say.

What's the point of meeting tomorrow? Both sides have told the media what they are going to say.

Ward does sound a nasty bastard though, the club have to play hard ball now and send Sterling back to the u21s.

To be absolutely fair, Tony Barrett and others in the press who are probably more ITK than most of us have said it's Sterling himself who's been driving this whole business.

I've come to the view that it's now urgent we get rid. The longer this continues, the more the fee we can charge for Sterling may drop. It's not impossible we could end up having to keep him but getting naff all out of him, the little tw@t.

Neither side will want to be depicted as the one which wouldn't even discuss the matter, but I agree there'll be naff all point to the meeting itself.

Would anyone still bother trying to deny that Sterling is just an exceptionally unpleasant character? This is extraordinary, and in no way 'par for the course' for missing out on the CL etc.

As JJ says, it's getting to the point where his value will be affected.

If you ran a top club would you really be looking at this situation with Sterling in a positive way for your club?

Why would anybody want to bring him in if this is the sort of messy he brings with him.

If somebody is daft enough to offer £40M+ it's a deal.

If I was Chelsea.. if they wish to sign him.. add a condition in his contract..

He seeks a to obtain a new agent....

It was not far off this level of attrition with Suarez and Arsenal 2 years ago.

Time is a great healer, the club should stick to their guns and wait out the summer - no fucking way should we allow him to leave now or to let him and his agent to dictate where and when he goes.

Everything he has said is astonishing. He can't even put how he feels about Carragher's criticism even close to eloquently. A professional footballer's agent publicly calling somebody a knob? It's laughably unprofessional and shows a complete lack of self-awareness.

What a complete moron, I think his agent just single handedly ruined his chances of moving to any non circus run club. It sounds like FSG have decided to play hardball and hes panicking trying to force the move.

I genuinely hope we hold him to his contract and put him in the reserves for 2 years

I read Aidy Ward was also the agent of Peter Odemwingie. Remember that farsical transfer window that saw Odemwingie drive to QPR to try sign for them?

This agent obviously fancies himself as an uber deal maker of the Jorge Mendes variety, he ends up sounding like a desperate twat, we should be well clear of any player represented by this cunt

Aidy Ward denying it now so looks like it is either said casually off record or totally fabricated.

Let the cunt rot on his £35k a week playing handful meaningless games then take the tribunal fee.

Ward has come out & denied the comments in the standard.

Now I know papers make stuff up from time to time, but there's no way at all I can imagine a paper faking a quote, & not just any quote, but one as stupid as that.

If they wanted to do so they could have said 'is believed to have said..' or anything along those lines.

I'd be tempted to tell them that they get us a fee of 65 million and he can leave.

Otherwise he's rotting on the bench and training by himself for 2 years.

No way a newspaper would just make up quotes and directly attribute them to a person.

What the hell's he playing at?

Yup it was probably a gut reaction he didn't think the journo would use.

Ward appears totally out of his depth since he's now in charge. And it's not the Carragher comment thats the bit that causes him trouble.

He's practically admitting to being involved in the infamous 'tapping up' of a player

Talk sport said that ward guy would be pursuing legal action about those quotes he's denying.

Bet that never happens
