Its nearly 10 years since we won the Champions league, how time flies! Its amazing to see how the club has evolved over the years and despite not being at his best, still having the greatest ever Liverpool player still grace our pitch.

So it got me thinking what will our club will look like in the future, what will we have achieved if anything? who will still be playing? Who will be our manager? will we have any world class players on our books? Will Rodgers still be here (not looking likely at the moment), will Suarez return after five trophyless years in Barcelona?

So my question is. How do you think the team will look in five years time?

I know its impossible to predict but it would be interesting to see what your predictions are and hopefully give us all a lift after the dreadful week we have endured!

Origi, Can, Sterling (so long as he doesn't become too damn good that RM/Barca come along), Moreno, Manquillo, Lallana, Ibe, Rossiter, Sakho (IMO), Suso, Sturridge, Texeira, Ilori, Flanno, Allen, Williams, Hendo and maybe even Markovic ... there's some serious talent in that lot of youngsters (though Sturridge, Allen & Lallana aren't that young any more they can easily see out another 5 years). Maybe even one or two more from the youth ; Canos, Sinclair, Chirivella, O’Hanlon, Trickett-Smith, Dunn, Kent or Wilson can come through too.

Supplement that with judicious, high quality, signings and we can have a very strong squad indeed in 2-3 years. Maybe even enough to see us emerge as one of the top challengers for the title year in year out.

The only worry I have at present is FSG's penchant for signing the next best thing whoever they may be, instead of using that cash to supplement the budget with those extra $ on players for the here and now. How much of that is BR and how much FSG I have no idea.

I reckon at most we'll have about 5 of those players in five years time.

Perhaps the transfer policy is the biggest issue we have at present? The next two transfer windows could prove to be monumental in how our future pans out. As alluded to we need a superstar or two to support our youngsters, surely Henry and Co can see this too??
