Hard to tell what wages are going to become with new TV deals and City being allowed to sponsor themselves without sanction. They are gonna be massive obviously but how massive?
The Mail has a bit more sensationalist view.
Need to sign both Hendo and Sterling on long term deals. Doesnt matter if its shelved until the summer. Both players needs to focus on the run in.
I'd pay Sterling 120k. Probably even more. He's worth it. Losing him isnt an option.
City were sanctioned, weren't they? I still think they'll rein themselves in from now on, guess we'll see this summer.
You can't seriously be asking that?I'm still left wondering why Uefa spend years bringing in complicated new rules, making a massive song and dance about them, fine various clubs for breaching them, including City and PSG to the tune of £50m (suspended), and then at the crucial moment, let themselves be completely emasculated by the very clubs the sanctions were specifically designed to thwart.
What kind of long game are they playing there?
You can't seriously be asking that?
It's designed to keep the status quo as it is & make it ever harder for teams to break into, which it will do over the next few years, esp as the gap between the haves (cl qualification teams) & the have nots, grows.
I think it'd depend on whether someone like Real decide to move for him, as has been rumoured. In that case I could see it going north of £50m.
Madrid wont come for him, they already have Jese on the bench. I think Jese is more developed than Sterling as of right now. plus Sterling is not marketable at all, at least as of now. So I am relaxed about Sterling. He will sign eventually.
Not marketable? Is that for real? He's a marketing man's dream. His image is actually one of the main reasons I could see Real moving for him, even though he's not quite ready for that level.
For how they failed him? 😵Durex and Trojan are battling out for his image rights at the moment
I always find it interesting how people just adopt whatever the latest club story is into their rhetoric, just like the club want them to.
Instead of saying just get the fucking thing done the fanbase is now talking about performance based pay at a time when the club can't get deals done with two key players.
Pure coincidence I'm sure
There's alot of people saying, "just get the deal done, whatever the cost", you're being a bit selective about people's viewpoints. As always, there's both ends of the spectrum, people don't want us held to ransom, people don't want us to lose a key player, if that tells you anything it's the obvious - deals are complicated.
