Sterling Deal Complete: 49 million (44 + 5)

I think the difference between what we get now and what we might lose out on by waiting a season or two, is what we're really gambling on. We're not gambling on £50m, we're gambling on £10m or £20m, if we keep him and he helped us get in the CL, or a trophy, or even the league, then it's a gamble that will have been worth taking and the difference in transfer fee in the broader picture becomes irrelevant.

He's not going to drag us towards a title challenge or Champions League place, though. For one, he's not at that level even when his attitude is at its best and he sure as hell won't now. His relationship with the club is over. We need to rid our hands of him and reinvest the money into Lacazette. It's the best piece of work we would do all summer.

We should chop his dick off and post it over to City for 35m.

all because of his cunt agent..

He needs to fook him off.. his agent has caused this shit storm..
No it's because some people are cunts who think they can send that sort of abuse. These people need to get a grip. I don't care what he does, the type of abuse he's getting is pathetic.

Have an opinion, by all means but texting, tweeting or phoning him with racist abuse? Fuck off. It's pointless, and it's illegal and it says more about some of the people who follow us than it does about Sterling.

MC are set to make #LFC a third - and this time genuinely final - bid of £40million and £5m in add-ons for Sterling. *Mirror*

I'm still amazed he's still at the club. It's quite amusing actually. He's made himself (and his agent) look like complete dickheads. It's not just LFC fans that think that - It's pretty universal from most clubs across the board. Reports tonight that City will make a 3rd and final (ha!) bid tomorrow 40mill + 5 in add ons. I wouldn't be surprised if he is booed universally whoever he plays for next season. The England game at Wembley was a pretty clear marker and this whole sorry saga is only going exasperate it. This has a rather nice nostalgic nod to the Van Hooijdonk saga of the 90's.

He'll be gone soon enough. I have no doubt.

That would also be quite funny.
And sends a firm message to others including some agents. We are in control at this stage. We need to retain that control. Whatever decision is made, I just want us to be clinical and then dignified. If we keep silent, then it's for the best. No point getting involved in the drama publicly. It's already a shit fest but for once we seem to have most onside.

Plus the booing in the Ireland game? Surely it was mainly Irish Reds? Happy to be corrected.

Also (for once) I think most neutrals have been complimentary about LFC's stance and the way this has been handled by them. From the various chats I've had with some rival team buddies of mine it appears that way. ALL of them agree there is no way he's worth the fee if he goes.

Yep, but if he was their player, they'd snatch the money!

Ah maybe - That would make a bit more sense. You are right though. The silence from the club in this case is quite golden imo.

I'd snatch the money as well. That would be my choice - After all that is what is best for the club which is what we all want. Sell the cunt for top whack. It would be quite funny to watch him rot though.

A loss is only a loss if you had it in the first place. We paid £7m odd for him. He's not worth £50m unless someone pays it. He's no Luis in playing terms, but he is being divisive and disruptive without the talent to back it up.

I'd sanction letting him rot. We should have a referendum among the fans.

Someone has to take a stance against cancers ruining football. Agents. Shitcunt footballers. I'm proud of the way we've dealt with Suarez and now this little twat and his leech of an agent. I think they've gone too far and FSG will take a firm stance. I hope they ruin this little bagheads career.

I thought it was just over 1m from QPR?

Isn't that the same as their last bid?

It's so tempting to let him rot. Ha! This is why it's quite fun. After all it's always great seeing a greedy young upstart get brought down to earth (very publically) - He's good but I never thought he was that good.

You know who he reminds me of? Tony Daley. There I said it.

My thoughts exactly. And as I pointed out an opinion shared by a lot of our rivals as well. Not that that matters a fucking bit but it does seem to be the general consensus.

The 'let him rot the cunt' attitude is appealing, especially after the way he's acted over the last few months, but it simply can't happen. you can't have a 40-50M asset dwindling away doing nothing, plus it'd be the story that never goes away. He'd be there training with you every day for 2 years - imagine what that'd do for harmony at the club.

You wouldn't though.

It may be amusing to watch him rot, but surely we're all mature enough to realise that's a bit thick.
