Sterling Deal Complete: 49 million (44 + 5)

Oh I agree, it's flimsy. Sterling playing RWB is not why he wants to leave but did he play RWB much for us? I'm trying to recall whether it was 2 or 3 times or for a sustained period.
It certainly wasn't for a sustained period but I reckon it probably amounted to more than 2 or 3 times in all.

Binny?

[article=http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/rodgers-sterlings-wing-back-complaints-should-8974936]In the past four matches, Sterling has played either right or left wing-back and his form has dipped alarmingly.[/article]

Berahino is coming to Liverpool?

Ha! The cynical side of me imagines that an alternative scenario could be that he's pissed with Ward spending too much time and energy on Sterling's case and neglecting him - he's still "stuck" at WBA with no stories about him moving on to a bigger club, while Sterling has dominated transfer news for a couple of months now. The timing of this move to dump Ward is great PR that enhances his image, etc.

Sterling's (and Ward's) behavior makes me ask myself: isn't what he is doing self-defeating? If he really wants to leave then he should be doing everything he can to facilitate that. Liverpool have stated that they won't let him go for less than 50m, but the comments being reported by the press seem aimed more at getting Liverpool so sick of him that they will let him go anyway. Why not be more professional - the fee was likely to come eventually? I don't agree with arguments stating that Sterling and Ward are just idiots - they may be, but there is a lot of money on the table here, and they want to make what they can out of this deal. If Sterling wants to bad-mouth Liverpool, surely he should wait until he's left - doing it now jeopardises his chances of leaving ... by making it less likely Liverpool will get the fee they have declared as their line in the sand ... and by maybe giving pause for thought to City or other suitors.
I wonder whether City, seeing the field relatively clear, have suggested to Ward that any reduction on 50m will be split with him and Sterling.

They're not *just* idiots but my guess is there's a sizeable stupidity quotient in both of them, mixed with more than a dash of sheer greed. The fact that both have their heads securely wedged up their anal sphincters doesn't help either.

Sterling is expected to be fined for missing today and yesterday's training. *Paul Joyce*

So we can presume the doc has been out and there's fuck all wrong with him. Can't fine him for being genuinely ill.

"He may also prefer to join a club where a bevy of former players and a hunting pack of local journalists do not circle to condemn anybody who even vaguely suggests - through twisted words or exaggerated deeds - that they are 'bigger than the club', an unspeakable football crime second only to spitting."

Because Man City would have what ex-players who fall into this category? Unless you go back to the days of Colin Bell, Francis Lee etc, any player of note who has worn the pale blue of Man City has more or less guaranteed to have also plied their career at several other premier league clubs and would have no real affiliation to MC. At least the players we have coming out to point out what a tit he is being portrayed as ( most likely down to the agent ) all have a very strong affiliation with the club.

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling's mobile phone number has reportedly been posted online with disgruntled fans encouraged to use it to send abusive messages.

The club have not commented on whether the number is genuine. It comes development comes following reports that the player did not report for training on Wednesday citing illness.

Exactly. Whoever this tart is, she seems to have a Neville-type problem with Scousers. I don't know how I'm going to sleep at night worrying about it.

Hope so aswell. If they bid 50 mill though we should sell and drive him over there before they change their mind.

A part of me wanted him to stay but these latest stunts are just to much. Cant fucking stand the cunt.

Lfc happy to keep Sterling on 35k a week for next two years rather than compromise on price (Chris Bascombe)

Proper attitude if true.
Pay up or fuck off.

I hope that's no more than posturing. The idea of missing out on ~£45M and keeping that little shit at the club for 2 years is monumentally stupid.

We won't be missing out on anywhere near 45mill unless they decide to offer 56mill cash upfront as we owe QPR 20%. They've twice offered us poxy deals with addons.
Fuck him and fuck city. Keep him and see what the tribunal says in 2yrs time after we've saved ourselves at least 250k a month in wages for that period.

We don't want to made look a soft touch again either.
I'd settle for 45 up front but it's City so we should be really pushing for the 50.
Although this is gone beyond money at this stage I just want to see the cunt gone.
Ligament injury then would be the icing.

If he's so good he's worth all that money why sell him?

He's contracted to Liverpool FC, he's paid to play. Get on with it.

His attempts to leave look like they've run into a dead end anyway.

I know there was a way back for Suarez and Rooney but I really can't see it here.
He's a fucking bad cunt being advised by a monumental whopper.

You've got to respect Balotelli for that, it shows Sterling up for the little shit he's becoming. I hope we keep Sterling though, as long as he ditches his cancerous agent.

I don't want to see him stay after this, but taking a gamble over the long haul works both ways, alot can change at the club (for the better) in 6 months, never mind two years.

Anyway, apparently Sterling got the cold shoulder in training from a few players (bless) and Rodgers is still insisting he's not for sale.

Hence the sudden bout of illness.

A lot can change and I hope it does. After all I do want to be a club where the games brightest young stars want to be and feel they can win trophies, but that requires a huge leap of faith right now, in both the club and Sterling's views, mentality and agent. I don't think he'll ever be worth as much as he is now again, for any club, and we should cash in whilst we're able.

I think the difference between what we get now and what we might lose out on by waiting a season or two, is what we're really gambling on. We're not gambling on £50m, we're gambling on £10m or £20m, if we keep him and he helped us get in the CL, or a trophy, or even the league, then it's a gamble that will have been worth taking and the difference in transfer fee in the broader picture becomes irrelevant.

I can't recall the last footballing soap opera that generated so much chat and gossip without anything concrete to go on. It's kinda weird that none of the parties involved seem to be saying anything.

We'll surely sell him eventually but it looks like we might come out not looking too bad at the end of it, which is nice given where we started and what's happening.

I have to use all my intelligence and stealth to manipulate the university. It would have pissed me off a little bit if a pair of thick cunts just had their way with the club like its no big deal. I'm over the moon he failed and has fucked his career. It indirectly justifies my own meticulous approach to being a cunt to my boss.
