Martinez with someone like Van Gaal I'd be ok with. Martinez on his own and I'd be a bit unhappy but I don't understand why people get all depressed based on what motor mouth Dave Whelan says. Even if Martinez is appointed then wait and see how we get on before reaching for the razor blades.

Whelan is the one who makes we wonder if it would be right to sign Martinez. His talk about "I don't want to lose him // he works 7 days a week, 12 hours à day, I promised him that I'd let him go bla bla bla".

Whelan's stance on the whole thing is defo weird.
He's been very open about it whereas other chairman would downplay/dismiss the link whether it's reality or not.

Been around for years, and been entirely mediocre for 99% of that time, but he saved his career highlight for a 2 month spell right at the end of last season and hey fucking presto we are in need of someone for that role.
Let's face it if he gets the job, he'll come in, do an ok job, get knocked about a bit by supporters, and be replaced within 2 years.
BUT. Here's what I think; he won't get appointed anyway. These yanks know utterly fuck all about football, they'll know that themselves, so Martinez's only hope was that he interviews well, pays for that fucking starbucks the lizard is walking down the street with and the Yanks are so enamoured they offer him the job there and then. The fact he wasn't offered the job and it now seems they're coming to the UK to meet other candidates (AVB, Rodgers, whomever) means Martinez is in trouble. If you didn't get it first up Robbie, these other cunts are gonna blow you out of the water. He had his shot and blew it.
Back to the JJB for you chief. That's my take on it anyway.
