Brought in probably for a fraction of the wages we were paying before, allowing us to spend more hopefully in summer.
Took over an aged bloated overpaid mess, and in NINE months has turned round the age of the squad, the perfomances, the league position, the points total, the playing style, the goals scored.....

Yes he has now got to sort the defence out. He has to show that he can replace Carragher and Skrtel well. He was also to tweak the middle of the park.
But he has EARNED my respect and my time.
I cant speak for anyone else, but im more than happy with what he has done so far and feel really good about what I think the future is about to yield.

It is ok isnt it.
I know youre a bit of a cynic Macca, and you could well be right. And fuck me there has been a lot to hate this season. A lot of shit performances, a lot of tactical niavety, a lot of poor results.
BUT.....

Well ya know...the things I said.

This season almost perfectly matches the plot for the film Mannequin.
Mr Rodgers is Andrew McCarthy, Fergie is James Spader, Carragher is Kim Catrall and John Henry is Estelle Getty.

I'm still optimistic borini will repay my faith

Me too. He's not as silky as Sturridge, nor as nutmeggy as Suarez, but he knows how to time his runs into the right positions, and can twat the ball pretty well too. We might've overpaid for him, but I think he can grow to be like Kuyt, albeit without the titanium body.

Borini's at a level where we can trust him as a very good squad player, with wages that reflect that. And he won't (hopefully) go into fits if he's on the bench.
I'm very happy we have him.
For games where we need to be solid against the big sides, I'd imagine we'll have Sturridge spearheading the front three where Coutinho and Suarez interchange behind him, while for the ones against teams that park the bus, we can have Coutinho playing centrally behind Sturridge, Suarez, and another player (Downing replacement) with two holding midfielders, with Borini coming on in the second half should things need livening up.

We're looking good. Coutinho is a little genius.

So who is the security guard!

He's definitely done a lot. I haven't felt so excited about our ability to score goals since the Owen and fowler days. So many positives and yes there's work to be done on defence, but even the biggest Cassandra can't ignore how much better the future looks

Don't know if any stats would back this up but we certainly seem capable of creating far more (and clear) chances for goal scoring opportunities than we have in the last decade, maybe more, since the Evans days. And the project's only just beginning.
We've always considered every summer to be the most important one, but this summer for me will be the most important in years.
If we can get the right players, bring in more consistency (because we really are sublime on our good days, as opposed to efficient), then there's no better season than the next to get into the top 4, maybe even get in the mix for the title.
Man City will have a new manager.
Chelsea will have a new manager.
Scum will have a new manager.
Bale FC could potentially lose Bale.
Arsenal seem to be on a constant decline.
Everton will have a new manager.

I know Mourinho got instant success at Chelsea the last time, but still, new managers and systems/tactics at all the major clubs bar Arsenal has got to be a positive for us and give us a lot of hope next year. I'm more positive than I was midway through Rafa's tenure right now.

Don't know about the Arsenal part - they continue to put on a good enough run to get into the CL but a poor enough run to miss out on a title challenge.

That's an amazing list of managerial changes regardless. 4 new managers and 2 in their 2nd season with their current club (AVB, Rodgers). Wenger must look at that list and wonder if it's now time for him to finally unleash the supposed stash he has at his disposal.

There's been "some" tactical naivety, there's been some good tactical shuffles within games though, particularly at half time which has changed the face of the game (for the better) in the second half. He's done quite well and we're playing some vibrant football, we just need to find that consistency and a bit of a backbone.

Problem is that coutinho will then have to take on more defensive responsibilities. Plus like it or not it will more likely be allen playing there.

I like to think Allen will be much improved next season, plus I think both he and Coutinho can be in the same team.

You fucker.... Now I have that fucking theme tune from Starship in my fucking head.

"Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" - you bastard.

I was in love with yer woman in mannequin. Proper love. Not from watching the film, just from the clips of the film in the video to 'Nothing's gonna stop us'.

... And of course I just did.....

The horror... The horror!!!

The trailer is just Hilarius. I don't remember laughing as much when it came out. I think that was the beginning of the end of Andrew McCarthy!

For the record, I also remember where I was when I watched "Dirty Dancing" for the first time! err.
