People say 18 year old as if it's a negative. Surely it's a major positive. The guy might well have 15 good seasons ahead of him.
£2m a season. As SL says, chances are it'll look good value in a few years - although I do think there are similar options out there that probably offer better value.
If everything goes as planned it'll look like a good deal after a few years. There are just so many things that can go wrong with a transfer like this. He has looked very good but £30m for an 18yo full back? There's at least 50% extra just for being English. Southampton are also in excellent position to negotiate so It's probably not as incentive based as it should be.
That said, I guess the worst case scenario for them is a slight dent in dividents for stock owners so why not.
